Went to Albania last year, and this city was by far the highlight. recommend reading anything by Ismail Kadare while there, as he was born there.

I have to correct you.... Gjirokaster is not full of Ottoman achitecture.... its seems simillar but its Albanian Architecture, the differences are in important details.... i was also wrong thinking that all those old houses are Ottoman style but they are not!!! Gjirokaster ist most Albanic albanian city....
