Giving plain flat doors a different look with a simple jig
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
hi
I just wanted to share a quick trick i learned some years ago.
its a pretty cool way of making plain doors look interesting just by making a jig around the door with some spacers and running a hand router with a ROUND base around it ,by incorperating blocks or templates you can get some cool designs and by using different profile router bits you can really get greative with designs.
thank you for watching .

I was looking for tricks and tips for making false drawer fronts on a router table and my search came up wit h this video. I also have a hand (plunge) router and this method is ideal. Thank you.
I have watched this video several times over the last year or so. This is just spectacular in its simplicity. I just built a wall cabinet for the home, and the second one with the square pegs in the corners is what I am going to do for the doors. Simply awesome! Thanks for the video!

I found that my smallest router is too big for this job. There's probably a way round it by building a jig, but I decided to buy a cheap palm router, as your method is so much easier and I already have the frame made. 😀

That's a GREAT idea! Such a simple jig, such amazing result! I'd only leave the tape on until I painted the doors. Or maybe mask the whole door and then spray paint it after routing and then remove the tape.
