Giant blooper the size of the giant banana where you drop it behind you and it sprays the ground in ink, spinning players out like the giant banana but the blooper acts as a barrier, throwing it forward allows it to attach to walls or the ceiling and spray from there too

The leaf exists as a twirl in mk 7, which i found cool. The statue leaf could do the same, yet function as if you would ram someone really really hard with your cart, bouncing them to the side.

1. The purple Shel (from the Mario bros wonder trailer) like a red shell but can hit two people. 2. luigis Vacumm cleaner you can pull racers toward‘s you. 3. Lakitu swaps you with a within a radius of 3 player‘s 4. Captain Toad you can throw him on the road and makes everyone slower, because he cooks for the like how he did in the movie. 5. Oil you can leave a trail of oil 6. The feather from battle mode in the regular mode.

That fake invisibility star has to be the most creative item you've ever come up with. NICE VIDEO MAN.

At least the fake item boxes in Mario Kart 64 actually look like real item boxes, just with the upside-down question mark

P-Switch; all coins turn into oversized brick blocks, functioning as an object that halts any velocity by bumping into it

Fly guy who flys around you and grabs nearby items on the ground.

You could have the lava bubble from motion odyssey spawn a lava circle on the floor and when someone lands on it they spin out and the lava bubble jumps up in the air and drops back down witch can hit the players behind if they run into it then disappears after landing!

I think of more items, Gold baby Yoshi: you can shine light that makes all nearby players players unable to see, so just a area version of your light box Yarn ball: when you use it a reticle shows up, it moves back and forth, you then use the item button again and it bounces around in the direction of the reticle untill it hits someone (so a version of a egg/yarn from Yoshis island series) or bounces 10 times Big yarn ball: yarn ball but it doesn’t break when it hits someone, bounces 20 times

Feel like the coin related ones would need the coin count to be raised, or be almost infinite, like the 3d world crowns.

13:14 In Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, the Mike item can only be used for 3 times, and the damage it makes will be higher for each use. Also, the first and second hit can only damage enemies in front of them, but the third hit effects the whole screen. So, I think the Mike item attack opponents in front of you in the first two use (the second attack will have a longer range than the first attack) then act like a horn (with a larger range) in the third hit. Also, the Mike item can be used to dodge items (and clear out negative effects, in the third attack) but can't be used to dodge blue shells.

4:15 I think the p switch could turn coins into bricks, that would be like adding temporary obstacles, maybe it could also grant a speed boost as how it is feels annoying

The Thunder Cloud from Wii already does what the Grrols would do. I don't think people really understood that the Thunder Cloud gives you a good speed boost, as well as making you able to off road without losing speed, making it really good for shortcuts. However, there was a little risk of the shock happening, so just be sure to pass it onto someone else before it goes off on yourself. It was a personal favorite item of mine from the Wii, and I'm still a little upset that it hasn't been used since, but I guess so many other items haven't really been used in this game from other games.

I think with custom items all of these could be added without getting in the way of normal gameplay

Honestly, these powerups are relatively reasonable. I could definitely see Nintendo using some of these items as a gimmick for potentially the next Mario Kart game, with the gimmick being an item refresh/new items.

The Spring and the On/Off switch seem like actual items that could realistically be in the game! especially the spring, really good concept!

while watching this video I thought of power-ups: The Clock - When used, the clock slows down time by 50% for all racers except the one who used it for 3 seconds. It would be about as rare as the Shock. It wouldn't spin out the racers, just make them a lot slower. The Pipe - swaps places with whoever is in front of you Cappy - Throw like Boomerang, and if you hit a car, you and it become synchronized but when Cappy ends, the person who was being controlled spins out

Hat: acts like a green shell, if your hit the hat will cover top half of screen for a few seconds. Royal Ka-Thunk: spins around the racer acting as a shield for ground obstacles. Oil Drum: Creates an oil slick. Ice Brick Block, a placeable version of the Vanilla Lake ice blocks. Mini Goomba: racers can’t preform tricks when a Mini Goomba is on them. Blasta Mechakoopa: Fires homing missiles. Autobomb: Shoots cannonballs at the closest thing. Spike Ball: na Chain Chomplet: a smaller version of the Chain Chomp item. Digga: 1) Goes underground and attacks a driver ahead of you. 2) Turn into a Digga and burrow underground for a couple of seconds. Gooble: Wanders until it hits something, leaving goop behind. Water Barrel: Leaves a puddle behind when it is broken. Yoshi’s Story Piranha Sprout: Any racer who runs into it will be shrunken. Crazed Crate: Jumps two times before jumping off screen to land on another racer. Turnip Cannon: na

Imagine a Mario Kart were coins can be exchanged for items, or even, a new mechanic were you could use coins for fusing items! Now coins not only allow you to reach max speed, but you could sacrifice your max speed (coins), and use them for items as an offensive and strategic mechanic. The price for a generic item is (×6) coins. The item you get will depend on your current position. For fusing items, the price is (×10) coins. The fun of the game is discovering all the crazy combinations of items. This are just ideas on top of my head, but, combining: *Banana + Bomb 🍌💣* - Banana Mine ×3 *Shell + Mushroom* 🍄🐢 - Shelly Mushroom: besides from giving you a boost, if you bump another player while boosting, they will instanly get hit. - Or a Giga Shell - or a very fast but normal shell *Banana + Mushroom* 🍌🍄 - Giga Banana - Bananashroom: when used, you will leave behind 5 bananas after boosting. - Red Banana: if you hit a Red Banana, you will slip way further than a normal banana. *Green Shell 🐢 + Banana 🍌* - Green Banana: has the same effect of hitting a standing shell on the road. *Mushroom + Star* 🍄⭐️ - Super Golden Mushroom: its the star power + a golden Mushroom. *Green Shell (×1) + Green Shells (×3)* 🐢🐢🐢 - Multi Shell: you can throw as many green shells but for only 5 seconds. *Blue Shell + (×3) Green shells* 🐢💸 - Mega Blue Shell: functions as a blue shell but it hits not only the 1st player, but also the 2nd and 3rd player. *Blue Shell + Thunder* 💸⚡️ - When used, while the blue shell moves towards the 1st player, if an opponent is hit by the blue shell, the opponent will shrunk, as well as the 1st player obviously. And so on!! What do you guys think? Obviously, the fusing mechanic should be balanced, not all items could be fused. I was thinking something like Mario Kart Fuse for the name.

I really hope most of these come to a Mario kart game in the future at some point. These are all amazing ideas!!

I would probably add waddle Dee (sends a waddle Dee in front of you), bronto burt (same as waddle Dee but in the air) and Ninjie (copies the moves of one opponent).

Here are some more items: - Elephant Mushroom It doesn't actually turn you into an elephant, it just turns you really heavy. - Ultra Blue Shell It's like a blue shell, but more powerful and hits you straight away. It is immune to horns, unless you have an... - Ultra Horn The Ultra Horn is simple. It just protects you from the Ultra Blue Shell. - Home-Run Bat If you have this item, you will send an opponent flying off the track. - DK Barrrel It acts like the Yoshi Egg from Double Dash. Basically it rolls around and acts as a red shell, then when it hits it leaves a trail of bananas. - Pipe It spawns a pipe that teleports you to the end of the lap, however anyone else that tries to use it will get eaten by a Piranha Plant. - SMB2 Mushroom Unfortunately it doesn't turn you into an SMB2 version of yourself (it would only work on Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Shy Guy and Birdo) but it still changes the music to the overworld theme and allows you to throw an infinite amount of turnips for 20 seconds. - Spring Wheels This item turns you wheels into trampolines and bounces your kart into the air repeatedly for 15 seconds, allowing you to crush other karts, making them flattened (like f.e. the jumping notes in Music Park) - Upside-Down Blooper Pretty self-explanatory. The Upside-Down Blooper temporarily flips your opponents' track upside down. - Randomizer Can turn you into a random kart combo at any point in the race. Imagine if you were on the Teddy Buggy, but then started riding the Wild Wiggler? - Robber Boo Steals all 2 of a random person's items.

Duck hunt gun and duck: the duck is like a red shell but doesn’t spin them out it just slows them down.the duck hunt gun brings you into first person mode makes it Pixley and you can shoot people in front of you If they have an item it will give you the item but you can’t shoot it anymore but if they don’t have an item and they just have coins, you can shoot it forever until they don’t have coins(it self drives)

in a team game on mario kart wii the fake item box color depends on your team so if you are on blue team its a lot harder to tell that its fake then, but unless its right where an item should be it will still never be fallen for.

The Dash Pepper from Mario Galaxy 2 would be a cool item. It could give you insane speed (faster than a Bullet Bill) and leave a trail of fire behind which damages other players if they touch it. Since you are so fast every time you want to steer you will drift by default.

I have always thought of the MK8 version as the Spiny Shell while the MKWii version I think of as the Blue Shell. While the Blue Shell may only hit the leader, it is more powerful. I feel like the Spiny Shell is a lower place item while Blue Shell would be a 4th - 7th item.

My idea, the Super Crown. Gives you Super Star power and Golden Mushroom power. It runs like a Golden Mushroom. You can either spam it for Mushroom usage or use it once and run the clock down allowing you to have the star effect for longer than normal.
