Based on the devs' "how hard it is to play against" criteria, Crow and Spike should totally be legendary. If you don't have much experience with them, they can completely demolish you without giving you a chance, and when you first get them it feels like you're unstoppable. Sure their mechanics aren't all that unique, but Carnage changing their rarities is a crime.

Something I like to think about is what if spike was a brawler that was released this year and was told he was going to be a legendary, compared to cordelius, chester and sandy, he doesnt really have much to offer thats 'innovative' I agree that he can demolish people early into their time on brawl stars but that might just be because of his current place in the meta. I dont really disagree with you though

I personally think Lou being a legendary makes more sense. his attack gives the frost attack which only Lou has. his super is so unique with the slipping. the only draw back is his gadgets, star powers, and hyper charge are a bit less unique.

Rarity is scaled with how complex the brawler is. Basic brawlers such as shelly and colt simply deals damage but higher rarity brawlers such as Mr.P has tons of strategies, best ways to use super or gadgets and which star power to use. Cordelius and Surge are one of the most unique brawlers and that is why they are legendary.

I think that the reason Supercell did not put Chuck in the legendary rarity is because they wanted people to have him.

I would think they have to do with the complexity of the brawler, rather than how easy they are to play. That complexity doesn't have to come from an over the top brawler; for example invisibility has a ton of versatility on how it can be used. This is the very reason why Crow is placed where he is, as opposed Byron and Willow who really only have one job. Crow can do much more than just poison and be annoying. That being said, the list is pretty good. Not perfect, but based enough for me.

@soumyadeepmukherjee Willow's application of that is limited, as she can only travel so much distance to make use of it and is only ever used as self-defense or sneaky plays. If she had it for longer or had access to more abilities, it would be a higher rarity.

Tbf Byron heals, so he also "can do more than just poison and be annoying." But he's a support, and Willow is a thrower instead of an assasin (who in the world ever use Crow like that?💀 He doesn't do that most of the time) And legendaries tend to be more based on fun or potentialy broken mechanics.

People really think that maisie attacks are simple 😂 , and they themselves never show a single gameplay of Massie because they know that they will not able to play with her well. Because her mechanism is hard and her super is also too good .

Spike should still be a legendary. For starters,his attack consists of two phases, the first is that he throws a simple projectile that upon impact it explodes, the second phase is that his projectile is split into needles . This alone makes him unique than most of the other brawlers, since his attack and survivability makes him a hybrid of a sharpshooter and a shotgunner, even Gene's projectile needs to be expired in order for it to split because the former projectile leaves no trace when it hits a brawler or a wall thus preventing him from doing complex plays compared to spike. That's ONLY for the projectile, as for his super he can either stall, slow or even trap opponents to turn the favour of the battle to him, the aura of the super is indestructible as opposed to sprouts wall or Jesse's turret, moreover it slows the enemy and it deals a lot of Dps as opposed to Lou's super damage being under 100 damage. So by the complexity of his abilities, the synergy between his other abilities (SP, gear, hyper charge, gadget) and the different situations that spike can bring into the battle, he deserves to be legendary, the same goes for crow but supercell for some reason almost killed the effectiveness that the synergy of his abilities bring.

Lola has really big Legendary (or I guess Exotic) potential. Lets remember at first she was intended to be played by placing the Ego away from you, basically splitting the brawler into two independent targets. Going by that, noobs would just be very overwhelmed by not being able to dodge all the incoming bullets. But, with the playstyle people went with and that supercell just apparently adopted as her actual playstyle (putting the Ego on top of yourself), she's definitely Mythic at most.

I am personally fine with Lola being epic because she does not feel that unique to me. at the end of the day, she's just a damage dealer with the ability to spawn a pet (akin to Nita's bruce, Jessie's turret or Ash's robot rats.) Her ego is capable of copying lola's movements but that does not feel unique or complicated enough to be mythic.

I usually think that the more rare a brawler is the more creative and fun the mechanics of that brawler are.

I feel like sprout could be a contender for legendary since sprouts a thrower with nautical bouncy projectiles (only other being Rico) and the super is the only natural wallbreak (natural meaning no gadgets). On top of this, learning the sprout landing splash is also tricky and playing around these aspects can be hard to learn.

Its a solid list, but id argue that Maisie deserves Epic or maybe even Mythic. Sure, at first glance, her attack and super might seem basic, but her kit is surprisingly complex. The way her super, gadget, star power, and main attacks combo into each other that makes her more comicated. Especially if were basing this off of how hard it is to learn how to play against, i can already imagine a noob trying to perform Maisies combos, or trying to wrap their head around them. I mean, picture yourself as a kid who just installed the game maybe a week ago, and seeing Maisie cycling supers, using her gadget to close the gap and stun people, then getting another super and dealing huge AOE damage... It would be completely overwhelming to play against, and hard to learn. In my opinion, people underestimate how complex Maisie is, because at first glance she seems really simple and basic, but her kit is much more than the sum of its parts.

Her attack, super, gadget or star powers aren't that interesting by themselves, but it's the way each one combos perfectly into another part of her kit that makes her playstyle feel so satisfying.

@@castanh4 The thing about Colt is that his super is just a stronger version of his main attack, which is kind of one of the biggest traits of low rarity brawlers. Maisie, on the other hand, has a super which is completely different from her basic attack, but also combos with it, so a lot of the time it doesn't feel like it's two completely different moves, but rather two parts of one whole. This is further exemplified by how much better the super is when combined with the gadget and star power.

Personally i think Carl deserves to be an Epic. His attack is very unique as he reloads once he gets his pickaxe back, which leads to him being a much more complex brawler with using walls to bounce your axe to reload faster.

I have to agree on nani and buster alot. Her super and attack is pretty unique and busters shield and trait is also very unique. And on cordelius i have to agree with you 101% bcuz his super is one of 10 most unique supers in game and he and buzz only has this special trait

Most importantly, it's the uniqueness and depth of the brawlers attack and super at the time of release. For example, Lola's ego is much more than a damage boost. It has an insane level of depth you can reach, and it's just not understood very well because of the depth it has. It's especially unique because it was also released 2 years ago. On the other hand, Ruffs has a supply drop (smaller primo meteor) as a super, that after landing, summons a power up. That is... not very unique, as it's just a better power cube with extra steps. Let's talk about Spike now. He was the 1st to be able to slow in the entire game (at least I'm pretty sure), AND his attacks split into 6. All as one of the originals to be available at beta launch.

Gus’ ghosts and ghost bar is basically what makes him even super rare. His main attack is just a straight line like R-T’s and his super is just a shield.

Legendary means they have a unique mechanic and: 1. Spike is the only brawler whose attack splits when hitting a wall so he is legendary 2. Crow nerf all heals with 40% 3. Meg is the only brawler who lives after dying 4. Otis is the only one with mute and being able to hit invincible envy (except Cordy)

I think spike should be legendary because he has one of the highest damage per second in the game and his curveball is really annoying. His super also slows down enemies a lot, give him an opportunity to deal massive damage to the target in a few seconds. Crow's poison is also annoying as it stops healing and reveal enemies location in bushes. his super is also good for both assassinating and escaping and it does high damage

Actually, I think Spike should be a mhytich (I dunno how to write that). Most of that rarity is brawlers that have cool and somewhat complex mechanics but also they give the "mhystical" effect and so does Spike!

Putting Chester anywhere besides legendary is a top crime. Yes, his supers are simple but still. His main attack is unique, and no other brawler in the game is RNG based or luck based. So much variety from his supers.

CG, I have a question, did you start liking sandy since it was mostly all sandy gameplay?

Sure she can walk over the water, but it's not hard to walk on water from the gameplay perspective (it's literally a regular movement)
