Your dad seems like a great guy, he's also an awesome grandpa. I hope I can do this for my dad someday, except his dream car is a 1960 180SL and they keep getting way more valuable every time I check. You guys should find him a set of Mopar wheels for his next b-day, he probably wont say anything but I'm sure that's not his style.

I have his picture in uniform right next to me. He and my Grandmother raised me after my parent's divorce from Tokyo. I thank the Lord for them, and I miss him so much!! Last year I bought my dad a 1955 Double Die Lincoln Cent for his 75th birthday, the last coin he needed to complete his collection. 25 years ago I bought him the 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent for his 50th birthday. He doesn't have a lot of time left, so I'm glad he gets to enjoy his collection. Worth every "penny".

My brothers and I did the same thing for my dad. Restored his classic mustang. After having it for 2 yrs., he passed away. My sister in law told my older bro. to sell it. She wanted the entire money. Dear Sir, I just saw this and I think I'm at least one year late. Thru tears I'm trying to do this. My American grandfather was a pipe fitter for 40 years after WWII, from Henderson Texas. I have his picture in uniform right next to me. He and my Grandmother raised me after my parent's divorce from Tokyo. I thank the Lord for them, and I miss him so much!! Last year I bought my dad a 1955 Double Die Lincoln Cent for his 75th birthday, the last coin he needed to complete his collection. 25 years ago I bought him the 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent for his 50th birthday. He doesn't have a lot of time left, so I'm glad he gets to enjoy his collection. Worth every "penny".

My brothers and I did the same thing for my dad. Restored his classic mustang. After having it for 2 yrs., he passed away. My sister in law told my older bro. to sell it. She wanted the entire money. But my mother has it. She's giving it to my daughter in 2 yrs., when she turns 18. Not even I can drive it! Crazy mother! Lol!

Well, I feel his pain. Being thrifty from being poor is something you can't get rid off, regardless of how much money you have later. Having 2 vehicles is inconceivable, let alone paying for insurance...lol.
