Hello Sam, This is Susan (Mama B) Thank you so much for my beautiful spoon set! I was so surprised when I saw the engravings. It really was the perfect gift! 🐝❤️

So nice to "meet you"! :) I really really enjoyed how yours turned out too! Kudos to your gift giver for reaching out to see if I would do something custom. I enjoyed it! :)
I’m so pleased with my order, and you showed my utensils in your video, it was awesome to see and to know they were the ones shipped to me. I will order another set for my daughter for Christmas. Again thank you so much and thanks to Angela for my soap order too. You are my favorite show on you tube. I look forward to watching you every week.

That is so cool! :) Thank you again and again for your order too! I will let Angela know. :)
As always, great video. I have to say, watching you do these things (And please know I mean this is only the best way possible) because your unsophisticated style of working and explaining things speaks to me on what feels like an equal level and gives me tons of confidence in my own endeavors. I don't ever have to say "Yeah well HE can do it because look at his incredible expensive setup" or "his experience level puts him way above the average guy". I love that about your approach and its why I love tuning into your channel whenever you put something out, even when it has nothing to do with Laser Engraving. :) You seem like someone I could walk up to at a Wal-Mart and ask a question of and you would gladly answer. Please keep that "regular guy" style about you and never change because I am sure I am not alone that cherishes your approachability.

Maybe come up with a jig to hold the utensils in the laser so you can easily put them in the same spot each time.
Sam you should put a piece of saran wrap over that keyboard to help keep the dust out.

As always, great information.
A couple of wholesalers for beechwood utensils I found were Down To Earth Distributors, Alibaba, and Faire. Although Faire does engraving as well. Don’t know if will help you or not, but I love y’all’s channels and hope it helps. Staff safe and God Bless.

Sam, the oil you are using is great, no problems with it. BUT, it is MCT oil. There are much more cost effective versions of "plain old" MCT oil, around $60/gal or so. Thank you for sharing!!!

I enjoy time in my workshop. :) I really want to get the CNC fired back up soon, too. I need to do some simple, but custom signs, and look forward to using Carveco Maker again and all that stuff. I have been unable to find a source for Baltic birch over here in East TN though and that's a kicker to my CNC aspirations for signage. I really liked using that stuff.
Thanks for sharing. For the dust collection, get you a HVAC filter and put it on the intake side of that box fan and it will help out a lot.

Thanks Sam! You are the true example of business helping business. We all need to help each other. My motto has always been “surround yourself with good people and good things happen”. A while back your video encouraged me to buy the ortur which I love and am still learning. I finally bought the ortur cover which I wish I would have purchased right away. Did a couple orders and as I get better at using the software will be selling more. If I find a good manufacturer of wood products I’ll be sure to message you. God bless you brother and your family!

For the laser freaking out issue get a UPS (CyberPower or APC) for the laser. That will clean the signal up and also give you some extra time running if needed a light, tablet and laser will only use 100-130 watts.

Hi Sam I have watched all the videos regarding your move etc. but I'm glad you are back doing SamCraft I watched the first version of this video and I still enjoyed this one also and found some more useful things. Unfortunately I don't have a laser yet but I have a picture of the Sainsmart Jinsoku LE-1620 next to my laptop ever since you did your video about the laser, so someday it will happen. Even at 73 I still love technology. Thank you for doing what you both do for our benefit.😅👍👍

I don't know if your sanding mop is able to be taken apart. But there is one on Amazon that does come apart and you can make your own sanding mop pads by cutting small strips of sandpaper, punching a hold in the center, and stacking them. It's tightened by a nut and you can make them thick or thin and any grit. I learned of this from another KZread that carves wood spirits with a Dremel Tool, and he makes his own sanding mops on smaller jigs...
Sam the man in action !!! Love it !!! How does the engraving hold up to use ? Like stirring soups and stews. Do you need to re-oil them after using and washing ?
@Samcraftcom
Жыл бұрын
The engraving should last a very long time since they're placed in a general low-friction point of the utensil. The utensil's lifespan before needing to be touched up and oiled again depends on the user and how they care for it. Submerging or dunking in fluids is a killer to the utensil. It robs them of the oils and strips them down again. It's not the end of the world (usually) but does mean sanding and oiling them again as if new.
Beach wood aged wooden utensils 🤔 great video 🍻
Great video! ❤ Thanks for sharing! Do you have a video showing how you set your shop up off grid? I would love to see it! Do you ever pre-sand all of your utensils ahead of time? Maybe you can do all of your sanding in one day. Then just grab what you need as you go and put them through the engraver and then finish your process. Just a thought.
Those are beautiful I have to order some tyfs
Sam, my wife and I love your videos. We always watch all of the Green Acres videos together. One quick note about the oil finishes, mineral oil is actually vegan as well, you just have to be sure to not use oil that has beeswax added to it, like many board "conditioners."
@Samcraftcom
Жыл бұрын
You're right, it's vegan. :) The non-petroleum based finish is a good selling point for this oil, too. Although I've wondered the appreciable difference between sales... how many would choose one over the other... Hmmm.. :)
Your shop is “totes” organized! 😂😂😂
