I love the whole entire Givenchy Gentleman line and all flankers. Highly underrated. Btw you are looking sharp and healthy.

I tried this recently and was very pleasently suprised ..the iris is fantastic ..very dior like

Guys, i've just tried this one 2 days ago and the longevity blew me away.. after 16 hours i was still able to smell it easily ! it was like a skin scent but it smelled really good , smooth and sweet and it has depth . In 2018 it's not that common to find a fragrance that will last this long and for that this is gonna be my next buy. The smell is so gorgeous , it reminds me of DHI a little bit (i think because of the iris in it) . Good review !

Baws I totally agree I tried this the other day and I too got it to stay on my skin for about 14-16 hrs as well it was a skin scent but still there... id say it had decent projection for a few hrs then remainded closer to the skin till about 8-12 hrs before ot started to settle into the skin scent phase for another 4-6 hrs very good longevity and good release.. I own dhi but think this is good enough to purchase and different enough..

My longest lasting designer fragrance to date, if only the one D&G lasts this long it would've been perfect

I know I’m late to comment on this but it is hands down my favorite cologne since JPG Le Male when it first came out in 1995. I know it’s not the most unique but it is the best smelling and long lasting in my opinion.

Naah, jpg cheapo, blatant and boring. Same with this unfinished blend from Givenchy, it also smells not complete, it lacks that finishing touch

What a surprise this fragrance is, I don't do powdery smells but a fragrance SA gave me a sample the other day and so I used it today, it's shocked me how pleasant this is, really good. In fact, I walked into the post office this afternoon and the girl at the counter said, wow! that smell, you smell gorgeous, so there.

This is definitely not a casual fragrance for day time. I find it most suitable for special occasions, going out, etc.

Steve, I used to have the original when I was 16 years old, it was a powerhouse scent, but I think I'll take a trip to Macy's and try it out, it sounds like a winner!

One of my favorite First sampled this at a department store. Two sprays on my forearm and went about my day. This thing was radiating off my skin like crazy. People around me were reacting positively. Don't care what ill-informed fragrance snobs say. This is a masculine scent. Even after a shower the scent had awoken and was radiating. Givenchy Gentleman EDP, Dior Home Intense EDP and Amouage Interlude Black Iris are my favorite Iris scents hands down. Compulsory in my collection. Did ONE spray of Gentleman EDP on my forearm after a shower today. Almost six hours later and I'm still getting beautiful whiffs of this scent. It's going strong. Disclaimer: If you wear Gentleman EDP in an air-conditioned room with sexy ladies in that same room. You will draw major attention.

Absolutely love this scent. This and Terre D Hermès are on my list. First time watcher and new subscriber....thank you for a great review!

Hey, I ordered a decan and wore it today. I have to say it is an amazing stuff, the black vanilla smells so yummy. Great release. Longevity 10 hours on my skin. Best regards from Germany

I adore this fragrance. I've been wearing it a lot lately because I can't get enough of it. My collection doesn't come close to comparing to yours as I only have around 100 bottles, but I have a lot of quality fragrances. I love darker fragrances and I'm a huge fan of iris so this is a winner in my book. I've been rotating between this, givenchy absolute, Valentino Uomo intense, Valentino Uomo absolu, Ferragamo Signature, issey miyake pulse of the night, spicebomb extreme and ADG profumo.

I really love this one . I’ve tried the DH Intense but the difference is that this Givenchy performs better on my skin but the iris note is less predominant than DH Intense.

The second I smelled the Edt release last year, I was like "this smells like a watered down Dior Homme wannabe..." After testing it out on skin, turns out the longevity was also pretty bad. That's why, when I saw the EdP release, I was heartened. Plus it looks like the Gentlemen Only Intense bottle, which is probably my favourite from the house outside of Very Irresistible and Play Intense. Glad to hear you enjoy it Steven!

This reminds me a lot of Zadig & Voltaire's Him. Im surprised nobody mentioned it.

How is the longivity on this one?

I tried it and it's okay. Dior Homme Intense & Prada Lhomme are my top 2 iris scents, still.

I'm late into discovering this but since the demise of LIDGE and Lolita Lempicka Au Masculine I had been in fragrance wilderness. Until now. I first tried the Gentleman Givenchy EDP over a week ago and couldn't stop pressing my nose to my wrist all evening. I love gourmand fragrances. Consequently the iris, patchouli and sweet notes do it for me. The House of Givenchy is not new to me since I was introduced to the original or near-original Givenchy Gentleman almost thirty years ago. Fragrances go through their evolutionary formulations over time which do not always sit well but with my buttons pushed, little wonder that I have now discovered my new signature scent.

Hi Steven, I just recently ordered this fragrance. I can't wait to smell it again. The first time I had tested it reminded me of Dior intense. Which I really enjoy. I think Dior have more of a woody and some chocolate smell in the dry down. Great review as always. I really enjoy your knowledge and passion for fragrances.

My friend the Iris is becoming popular, more and more fragances use it, I think it would be a nice office scent, please bring us reviews of Alexandria's fragances.

GG is a very Underrated fragance line. I enjoy the edt and absolute.. It works for me and I receive great compliments. Going have to check this out. Appreciate you reviewing this new one..🤙🏾

Great review, buying this one soon got my nose on it and without ever seeing a video on it. The Iris hit me hard. Big fan of Iris.

I bought this on this review. It is so powerful and at first I hated in. I got cigarette smoke and earth. No florals at all. It is growing on me, but I prefer the gentleman only. My wife prefers Giorgio Armani, acqua di gio on me. It all so personal though :-)

I bought it, And I like it but I was not impressed, I have to say that I've worn it just once and I have to give more tie and wearings though it remained me of Valentino UOMO intense. Good review Steven.

Testing it on my hand now. I'm getting no Iris but I totally get the oriental feel and possibly the black vanilla too. Makes me feel like high society. Think I will get this after Wanted by Night.

@@pauljudah1235 I did end up getting it and I find the main note to be the black vanilla now lol. I also have Prada L'homme, and I definitely get the powdery Iris there. I also just got Dior Homme Intense and while I get a heavy dose of iris, most people described it as being sweet and a little feminine. I ♥️ all 3 and am a huge iris fan now.

Fantastic review Steven. Purchased today. I already have Prada lhomme intense and Valentino Uomo Intense but I don't care.

@meni inti yea... i never was a fan of any dior homme line ... too powdery - maybe for freddie mercury who liked to put 2,5mm of make-up :DDDD ... this smells more towards manliness, more patchuli, more darker vibe = more wearable ...

That's a great idea!

It's DHI meets Spicebomb extreme... Where as DHI is lipstick feminine, Spicebomb is warm and cuddly without the sex appeal.... Enter Givenchy Gentleman.... It's dark, alluring, very sensual Masculine scent. Extremely wearable and long lasting.... You want to be sexy? Masculine and mysterious? Get this one ASAP.... A 5 out of 5 by Imagine Scent reviewer

IMO...I prefer EDT vs EDP. Two completely different animals. I sprayed down with EDP at store and thought I smelled like a marshmallow all day.

Do you know if there is a difference between the batches of this fragrance? I have the possibility to acquire a batch of 2018/10 (8K01) and another of 2020/01 (0A01). Could someone give me a recommendation?

Great scent, cool it doesn’t have ambroxan ... it seemed they where practically giving away super ambroxan everything

I like this one i will agree it is in the same vein as dhi, vui, one million prive but this has more of a patchouli smell with lots of vanilla that gives it this marshmallow/caramel smell kind of reminds me if you mixed dhi,with vui, with theirry mugler Amen and this is what you get a smoother less powdery sweeter version of all those together. Not saying its better just you can tell that they needed to make something that was gunna keep up with other top selling designers..

Redolessence no problem I always watch your videos same with Brooklyn fragrance lover as well as cuba knows as well as simply put scents etc... all the reviewers pretty much in the frag community on KZread.. keep these videos coming and you can guarantee a view from me always.. this is a very splendid release I must say I havent wanted a designer fragrance in a while I want more niche frags only because they last longer so I feel I get what I pay for more out of them.. also I never pay full price lol.. do you know if there ever gunna bring notino.com back? is Jeremy fragrance really coming out with his own line of fragrances? do you think they will be a success?

Theres no iris in this its orris i think people are getting this wrong and comparing iris to orris totally different it can be misleading to your reviewers if there familiar with the smell of iris..

i bought this fragrance from fragrance x. i was expecting a great fragrance and possibly a dior homme intense vibe. i dislike this fragrance from start to finish. i just get a cloud of notes that resembles a jumbled mess. maybe i got one from a bad batch,who knows.

That really is a tough decision to make. There are times when I crave this one, and there are times when I like the Valentino. It all depends on what mood I'm in.

I get solid longevity. Anywhere between 7 and 9 hours or so. I think it's versatile enough that it can be worn during the day as well.
