What do you do full time?!?! It always fascinates me when guys like you can pull off the full time gig, family man, and a successful youtube channel..... and still manage to fish!

Ben says what he does on an orvis podcast or in a KZread video if I remember. I’m not going to speak for him so you gota dig to find out yourself!

I don't think he likes talking about it.

Well it helps when the KZread channel is about fishing
Love me some huge flyfisherman vids..learned the nail knot finally(with a tool) and what a difference just in looks and running into the eyes of the poles. Goodluck with the giveaway!
"The soft part after the fun" sounds like a good segment title.
Ive only been fly fishing about 3 years and i learned a lot from you thanks for the info and the funny videos makes my days alot better
the alternative to the nail knot that i've found helps (especially when attaching a mono leader to a wire leader (for pike)) is the albright but i'll probably slash doing the whipped loop for my fly line to leader for the nail, good shtuff.
Thank you for these very wise and useful tips! I like the way of you talk and the very short cut or images in your video clips.
Said to myself why do I need this video? Because you’re absolutely right, I don’t carry a spare fly line. Also enjoy beer time even though it’s coffee time for me.
You are just killing it lately! Really clean nail knot and right about the practice. Another trick is to roll the windings on a bench as you tighten but maybe your tool makes that unnecessary. You could call the ending segment the IPAlogue.
Great tip! I just had my loop break on my sink tip line last October. And ya, now there is an ugly knot connecting my leader and fly line and I was thinking of a good permanent way to fix it. Now I know!
I’ve had loop to loop connections hang up on the top guide when using a long leader to land a fish. I like to use a nail knot with Loon knot sense.
Hey, Ben. I just wanted to thank you for being such an awesome, informative youtuber.
Dude call it “Beverage Banter” 😂😂.

or "Beer Banter"
Awesome video! My favorite channel out there!
The only KZread videos I actually look forward to each week. Great content.
Tie one on! That should be the name of the post video beer discussion.
Huge Happy Hour! Love it. Cheers!
Stay Hugh! Definitely do the Driving Etiquette! Especially with a trailer.
Whipped loop on the back end of the line and then put a bimini twist in your backing with a loop big enough to get a spool through it. This creates an easy way to swap lines on a reel and a strong connection that still goes through the guides easily.
Funny coincidence, I just published a knot tying tutorial on my channel 3 days ago and scheduled it to go live at 3 pm today. Great minds ....I guess . Love your vids man, keep it up! Happy,
The beer at the end of the video is awesome, also gets folks to watch til the end.

Non drinker, so I didn't see.
Call it..Tippet talk..because it’s the end of the line. My liver (doctor) told me I had to quit drinking because I have a rare disease..or it would be a alcohol title suggestion.😂 Drink em while ya can..I sure did, for 45 years! Loved beer! Mmmmm 🍻 Thanks as always Huge! Just put my last Huge sticker on local Flyshop door here in central Tx. I’ll order more!👌👍🎣
Where was this video like two months ago when I had to nail knot a butt section to a fly line? Com' on, Man! Anyway, not having one of those fancy shmancy nail knot tools, I went with a nail and used a fly tying bobbin threader to pull the line through. Worked pretty slick. Recommendations for episodes: first aid kits to carry when fly fishing, snacks to carry, shoreline lunches, and recommendations on best fried chicken!

Try a coffee straw. Those are great too.
The way he said, “It’s winter” lol
Great vids Ben . Hey, a lot of us have old "glass" rods in the garage sitting un used. how about a vid about vintage glass rods and how to line them and what to use them for. just an idea. ha....left lane sitters. damn them.
I'm with yah, just not stoked on skiing lately...
Drinking a beer segment shall be refered to as "A HUGE hydration moment" pretty catchy dont ya think
Adding a comment for the algorithm! I've been doing the needle nail knot replacement of the welded loops for quite a few years now.
Brewskies with your broski ben
“The last cast” or “one more cast”
Mondays are always better with your videos!! And you should call it Beers on Monday or the Monday beer lol
Suds with Buds A Brew with the Crew Foam at home (credit to the guy below!) Also think about the needle nail knot where you thread the butt section inside 1/4” of the fly line. Works great. Love the channel.
Dude I’m always staying huge . Great vid Ben.
My boss didn’t like the idea of me grabbing a beer from the fridge while he was pouring coffee this morning. Gonna have to rewatch this
Sweet Videos Bro!!!! Im a Huge fly fisherman from Albuquerque N.M... Always Good Stuff!! Keep up the good work man👍🐟
Favorite channel by far!!!!
“Post Party” or “sippin from the trout spout” or “foam is home”
“Huge n’ Brews” ...brah 🤘. I’m so old I actually used a nail to tie that, uphill, both ways
@chiefsfan1533

“Huge n’ Brews” is awesome. Going to recommend this too
I hope everything going well. Xc skiing is hard core lol.
Ben you should call our after video beer a - Post view brew. Poured one before I started the video so I could have one with you. Feel the same way about the skiing up here in Alberta this year. The lines are brutal when they usually never are because of the limited chair capacity, can't fill seats with single riders or mix groups.
It has been a slow winter for must of us in the high country. Even with the new storms I keep finding rocks and roots. I have started fishing again until we get nuked. The good thing about not having snow is that the idiots keep all four wheels on the ground...
Another great video! You wanna talk about bad drivers? I live in DC...holy crap. The beer ending was SUPER awkward and SUPER funny! Love it. There’s gotta be a name in there that addresses how random and...awkward it is! Realize that may actually sound bad...but I don’t mean it to be!!!
We bow to your Knowledge, Stay HUGE
How about a tour of your trout fly boxes? Make your "Best Dozen" flies the main subject. Take each one out, lay it down for the camera, tell us about it. If you tie the pattern or who does, and any good stories tied to it. I love that stuff! Could also do videos of bass, saltwater fly box. And thanks Ben for helping us all through covid!
Double Nickles on the Dime snap - yesssssss. Never can have too much Mike Watt
Teaching your son how to row early, that way Dad can fish!🐠
The new intro tho 🔥🔥
always great advice, by a guy on you tube.. with a beer in his hand( throught out the whole video
For bonus fancy points, use an Albright knot instead of a nail knot.
I stand in a river waving a stick (John Giearch shout out) not time on Instagram, but I love that your doing this Ben, so cheer's to that. Great shot's of the kids. This thing called "tying knots?" Exhibit A. - My kid just asked me, what's a perfection loop? . . . . . . . . God save me.
Huge beer time! 🍺
Does cutting the fly line hurt it’s floating ability? Do you use superglue or anything on the nail knot to stop the fly line from soaking up water? Thanks!
@HugeFlyFisherman
3 жыл бұрын
It might hurt it a little, but I don’t worry about it.
Morning Ben. Happy Monday
Hi Ben. How about doing a welded loop demo? We are staying huge up here.
First off, great video! As far as title for the last bit to get to the 9:00 minute mark. Deep thoughts with Ben. Or Beers till 9
@HugeFlyFisherman

I only need 8 minutes, I just gave you that extra bit this go-round.
Lmaooo brooo the shark in the hot tub
Another great video Huge. A couple of suggestions: 1) streamer video - streamer patterns for trout vs. salmon vs steelhead - including how to strip these patterns effectively (different retrieves?), I have had very little luck with streamers on WA,OR rivers and would really like to know why these fish dislike my meats . 2) Steelhead fishing - west coast - yes I know you said you did this once (spey fishing for steelhead) and it sucked but from what I have experienced thus far in the pacific north west steelhead fishing is all about suffering so please come join the fun. Or maybe do a video from BC where apparently there are WAY more steelhead because the Canadians eat less or something. Stay HUGE huge.
Ben's beer rant :)
You are a beer whisperer!!!!
Three of my favorites ! Ben of Huge Flyfisherman ! Scott and he Veedavoo Team ! and Cameron at Fiberglass Manifesto!
my buddies fly rod/reel/line combo came with a line that doesn't have a welded loop at the end... he will benefit from this video.
How about "It's Time To Tie One On" or some variation of that???
The sipping rise with Ben.
First think I do is cut the loop off and connect the leader to the fly line using nail knot
Double Nickels on the Dime!! 🤘
Somebody already beat me to it. “Huge beer time.” But I wasn’t drinking beer when I was watching this video. I was drinking coffee and whiskey ☕️🥃. I hope that was an acceptable substitute.😂
The shark lift in the bikini top... no words can do that moment justice.
Beer bloopers! 🤣
Can butt sections be used on Tenkara...worldwide?
Ok, so why does every fly fishing guide I use cut off the loop and tie a nail knot. And the cuts the loops off my new leaders?
The braided loops won't fall off is you use a drop of CA... Stay HUGE!
Have gone fishing with my friends and inevitably one will show up with there welded loop cracked and coming apart or some cluster F@#k knot . I have to do something , I hate looking at it so I cut the end off get out the magic nail knot tool and do exactly this 🪢. I’m amazed how many people think when the welded loop goes bad you need new line . Maybe the beer at the end should be your “Bieroutro” gives it a European flavor . 🍺
Useful video and enjoyable as usual. Got all excited at giveaways only to see US and Canada only! Kinda understand thjs ad its to promote local businesses but still a bit of a letdown.
Beer. It's not just for breakfast anymore...
Cross country skiing/fly fishing!
Hey I gotta a topic you can talk about. How about the pro's and con's of the different boat types? Cat vs. Dory type vs raft?

This video is in the works.
Thanks for the video Ben. I would call the closing segment: "A Huge After Party." Whatever you do don't call it "a fireside chat." That would be too lame. BTW, the new intro is awesome! Stay huge!
A winter streamer fishing video would be awesome
Yeah, your hands are full, chug away! LOL
According to your LinkedIn, you speak Spanish. NOW that’s a video we all want. Common fly fishing verbiage in Spanish.

Beer section - SMALL BURP or BURPING THA BRO😉😂
great intro
80lb mono one the end of mine. I take no chances with those 2lb bass😂
Bummer for me (no Instagram). Toss them back with Ben! Great ending
Great ending
New intro is fire
Yup, the left lane is something else...
My friends to the south may or may not really need that video on driving right. They're wicked bad if ya know what I mean
Man, skiing IS a bummer this year, AND the Funds on 40 drive me NUTS!
New intro is very good.
It’s Wednesday night when I’ve finally had a chance to watch this video...but I’m wondering a little if you’re doing ok. I don’t have IG anymore, so no way to DM. There at the end I noted a little something; and I hope it’s just the long winter. Always wishing you the best.
Nah, I'm still a whipped loop or nail knot a loop in the fly line kinda guy. Especially on the backing end.

OK Ben, just cracked one.

Hops with HUGE
Call it “The after the show beer banter with Ben”
Beer drinking time should be called "Huge Cheers"
The second half seems a lot like your Q&A videos with beers and Ben. How about Q&A&B&B?
Beer reviews. Group beer therapy.
Left lane is a passing lane!
