@@abdbay I completely agree with what you say. The new God of War games like Ragnarok don't feel like the old games. Especially the missions with Atreus are really boring. But there is one mission that I really don't like. It's a quest where you have to find and collect ingredients in four of the Nine Realms to cook a soup that increases your stats by five levels. The problem isn't the mission itself, but the reference to Jari and Somr, two gay men traveling through the Realms who, upon arriving in Jötunheim, share their first "kiss". Even the campfire emits the colors of the LGBTQ+ Community. In short, God of War became Woke. Where has the old and traditional God of War series gone, with its bloodshed, death, betrayal, brutality, tragedy, rage, revenge and more? Where are the scenes with naked women and nudity in general? I am wrong; Now, as far as remakes of old games go, it's not a bad idea at all. It would be interesting to make these games again, with more details and some corrections, and with better references and sources from Greek Mythology. Sorry for being over the top before, but I wanted to say this because I love this series and would like it to grow better.

ari and somr were based on developers at santa monica studios Jake Snipes and Sam Handrick the pair were in a relationship until jakes passing in 2020 the story and quest were added as tribute. it was added for a personal reason to the studio not for some street cred. so in short look some stuff up before talking about it its pretty easy

I always thought that Leviathan got name from laeveteinn, they sound too similar to just be a coincidence. Its not unreal they changed some names to be more recognizable, like Brok being Brok instead of Brokkr etc.

People are incoherent if they actually think Atreus’s gameplay will remain the same if he’s the protagonist of the next game, of course they’ll change it up and make his gameplay and character more appealing.

The bow as a Melee weapon is just a nope even Bayonetta 2 made it feel nicer. As a ranged weapon The Bow Of Apollo should have been in his hands. The boy requires a signature weapon maybe even something Greek

Isn't there a lore reason why Kratos is not as aggressive in his combat as he was in the og trilogy? Isn't he less aggressive because of how he matured or is not as angry, young, and hot headed as he was in the trilogy? In the trilogy, the deaths of his family by his own blades was more recent and fresh compared to the time of GOW 2018 and GOW Ragnarok. He let out all if not most of his angry about the death of his family at the end of the trilogy. Is his old age hindering him from being as physically aggressive as he was when he was young, dumb, and full of ...? I would like Kratos to be more aggressive too and would love for the remake of the trilogy. As you said, it's easy money. Santa Monica take our money, don't you like money?

@@lightmohamed5700 Gow 2 - after killing the sisters of fate, instead of trying to do something about the death of his wife and daughter, he went in for a rematch with Zeus (twice - second time he brought Titans from an EVEN FURTHER past with him).... does that really sound like a "not hot headed" move to you? Or every single time he lashed out when someone said something or simply because he is in a shitty mood (ask Peirithous - MF got burned alive even tho he was willing to give Apollo's bow)

there was a comic about Kratos going into the woods and letting wolves take the chunks out of him, but he'd resist his urge to kill them. It went well until a troll showed up & killed the wolves, so Kratos rippped it to pieces.

Attack his past self? Why? So he could LITERALLY have made true to his suicide attempt? By killing himself 2- that would lead to him still being in the service of Ares and he would ABSOLUTELY NOT want that to happen 3- in chains of Olympus we literally witness him accept and handle the fact that he was never destined to be with his family as Gaia put it “the fates were never that kind” He never said a single word to peirithous let alone scream or lash out at him also at the point of GoW3 Kratos reached a breaking point where he just does not care anymore about anything because he literally witnessed everything he even cared for get taken away in front of his eyes we also see his declined of mentality during the 5 games that take place prior to GoW3 I do not know why nobody pays attention to anything while Playing the Greek Games

Im surprised Santa Monica isn't attempting a GOW trilogy remake, given how nowadays every studio and their grandmas are making remakes.

@@curtisdunn1854 If your going to remake 1 and 2, then at that point you might as well remake the third game, especially since it's a trilogy it makes sense to remake all 3. Only remaking 1 and 2 will make 3 stick out more like a sore thumb. Especially for newcomers to the games will like the 1 and 2 remakes but then will find the lower res, worse graphics (in comparison) of the 3rd one to be jarring. 3 holds up...for its time. Beware of the nostalgia glasses, even the game mechanics can be massively improved and overhauled. Assuming the remakes will make the camera behind the shoulder like 2018 and Ragnarok.

Is the brutality in the reboot game insufficient for your liking? I, on the other hand, am content with it.

Forget brutality how about a camrea thats not set up like an uncharted game and a freaking jump button for Christ's sake 😅

I kinda feel like the new combat reflects well with kratos new midset. Its much more strategic and having to be well timed, as kratos no longer wants to be the aggressive man he was. Not saying the older hack and slash was bad. Also, I didn't the atreus sections that bad.

Sorry but after the success of these two games hack n slash will remain a thing of god of wars past regardless if you like it or not

I know, I even said so towards the end of the video. All I’m asking is for a remake of the old games. It’s easy money for SMS. With future God of War games, they can keep this larger-than-life approach that they have taken, but maybe just include more hints of Kratos’ Greek past here and there. For example, I think Athena should have had a role to play in Ragnarok, especially since they had her appear in 2018.

My dad played the first one (2018) and I watched. When ragnarok dropped, I watched my dad play that. When he got to the atreus mission, he handed the controller to me and I played through that. Then we kinda just tag teamed that game until we beat it. The atreus segments were surprisingly enjoyable; probably because I didn't actually play as kratos. So possible unpopular opinion here, but I'm down for an atreus game. Anyone? Just me. Ok 😐

While the Atreus missions where sure not the best but they were still good and where a story for his chatter arc to show him growing up and to see him with new characters and all leads up to him leaving to find the giants

Wow, that was a bit to get get through. The only way that way of playstyle is coming back is remakes which they should do but do people not like evolution. God of wars story is changing and the game play matches it. We have a kratos that is wiser and calmer. Would it make sense to keep this style of gameplay with such a character change unless you want kratos to forever be a monster and not want him to be better. I feel that if atrasis is to take over then have more of a DMC playstyle. Its different then the hack and slash of kratos but still give that old feel.

I just want Kratos to be more aggressive. I want to see his brutality come back. Why can't he be calm and collected, yet aggressive and ferocious at the same time.

I love the old games more too but I also appreciate the new games and I know most people like them more because sadly they cannot understand what made the Greek games so good it’s simplicity in gameplay and straight to the point story is what made them so effective because while simple they make you CARE which is what every story snd gameplay should do

replay ability is what make them superior as well, i don't mind most of the things they have now if they just add new and old elements the it would make them much fun.

I agree , i preffer the older games combat system . I would say even the camera system much more creative . I wish for more brutality but it dose make sense with his character development . Anyway they need to focus a bit more on the gameplay part , no more hand holding , piss easy puzzles , a bit more focus on skill with certain moves and combos . So yea i think they should incorporate a bit more combo system that can require a bit more precision and actual skill . A bit more brutal finishers on bosses especially etc. I don't know i just a bit more focus on more fun and a bit more creative gameplay combat and less on "walking simulator " and stealth scenes , that can be too long .

I enjoyed the Atreus sections, ironwood was slow, but it made me want a spinoff series with him

I miss the old god of war brutalities. this all weak shit nowadays - keeping gorgon eyes, medusa's head, ripping hermes legs off and beating him to death with the stumps, uses Helio's head as a flash light...what do we get now? An S&M skit, nothing more.

First play through when you first play as Atreus was ok not bad and pretty cool, but after second playing through, it's just getting really annoying and all I want is to rush Atreus part as fast as possible, I wanted to play third play through , but it's just pain that I'll have to go on picking fruit mission for 4 hrs again....in my opinion developers should make an option for us to be able to skip Atreus part , coz many of the fans buy god of war to play as Kratos and not a skinny kids with an bow and arrow , it'll be sad if the upcoming dlc will be about Atreus, I would imagine if the Dlc is about Kratos traveling through out the Norse realms and keep on helping the realms to rebuild after the event of Ragnarok and to see he gets worship by all ppl that he helped like the prophecy in the last cutscene.

the same reason why they dumped the sex mini games and other violent bs, I gotta admire their dedication because they are clearly making GOD of war for a wider audience and I gotta appreciate that, we get more meaningful moments than ever and got so much character development with Kratos and the cast, they even reference the fact that Kratos was a huge meanie with how he killed an innocent boat captain out of spite, and we gotta apreaciate his evolution as a character and in gameplay from the more ruthless and edgy spartan we used to play with, Atreus gameplay and the traversal sucks IMO but thats just me, slow ass traversal, infamous and prototype do it better.

Nah, I disagree. Kratos isn't that kratos anymore. It got boring, hence why Santa Monica made some changes for the soft reboot in Norse. It doesn't bring new people into the game, plus, after God of War 3, a lot weren't impressed with God of War Ascension, besides the 2 player battles. We don't need a Kratos bonus, we need Atreus. The story is mainly connected to him and it would tie a lot of lose ended with his journey and awakening/bringing back the giants.

Santa Monica either know two things. Either there are ashamed of the GOW trilogy or they know that a GOW trilogy remastered with modern assets would sell out. Eitherway Santa Monica and Sony are leaving a lot of money on the table. For Example, the lost levels of GOW 2 and GOW Betrayal can be added in as additional content or weaving in secondary media like the GOW prequel comic into the main games would flesh out the universe of GOW
