Women have this distorted ass view of what men expect. The reality is men expect the bare minimum of acknowledgement for everything we do for our women but the vast majority of women are ungrateful. Most women expect access to their man's money, but are not willing to share any of their's. They expect men to work more than them, provide more than them, yet still do half the housework, plus all the male-only jobs at home. Yeah, you can show your man some gratitude, he didn't have to pick you.

@@DeoSiege yeah no, i can’t even. i praise my gf and she praises me whenever we complete a big job or we do something for each other or we feel proud of something we did that seems small but is a big deal to us. if your partner can’t do for you as you do for them, then it’s not a mutual relationship. you could love each other all you want, but cooking for your significant other just as much as they cook for you (if they’re able to) and cleaning and doing things for them as they do for you (again, if they’re able bodied and available to) is incredibly important and leads to a mutual and healthy relationship. the girl you’re talking to is lazy and clearly thinks you should do everything-at least that’s what i’m getting from what you told me

I always praise him when he cleans. The best advice my Mother n Law ever gave me was to acknowledge him when he cleans not because he cleaned but because it is his motivation to clean again. She said it worked every time for her lol and I must say it actually does work.

His Mom said the trick is you have to let him know that you seen what he did to help before he asks if I seen that he cleaned and I was stubborn at first but then I realized it was harder with kids and that it did help even if it wasn’t my way and I took her advice lol.

That last part is too true. Men want a fucking parade thrown for the most basic shit even though we're doing 90%+ of the work with virtually no appreciation. I swear when I give my boyfriend food he just hums and ignores it, I actually have to stand there waiting until he says "thank you". At first it was kinda hard but then i got used to it and it indeed improve my personality to be more optimistic, confident and enthusiastic talking to people. A person who cannot give an ounce of praises for the person for a long time is just sad. i'm 31 and it took me years to change. Although still i does have difficulties getting along with people, but it is nowhere near how i used to be in the past.
