Give Me an Answer - Is Desiring Eternal Life Selfish? - Doesn't Selfishness Lead to Hell?

Ойын-сауық

Program 2120 ...........................Knowing God - Designer - Is Following Jesus Selfish? - The Crucifixion - Old Testament Points To Jesus - What is "Good"........................................
Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US. Recorded Nov. 2019
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

@@mitchellc4 As unbelievers have a propensity invariably unbeknownst to themselves to not want God to exist, so too is it possible, as it is in your case, to actually not want Jesus Christ to be God who became a human being. He is called God with us. Because that’s exactly what He is. You need to do a study on all the scriptures that validate the deity of Jesus Christ, instead of looking at all the reasons why not. You have a pride issue. It doesn’t sit right with you that God should be with us in the form of a lowly man. I must warn you. Denying the deity of Jesus Christ is the unforgivable sin. Be warned.

I do believe that you can lose your salvation. If you decide to turn away from faith and to stop living your life with God, God won’t force you to go to heaven. Once saved we still have the free will to do evil and to turn from God. And to a certain point I think that you lose your salvation. Look at Judas for example. He lived with God for three years and still decided to do the evil that was in his heart.

God bless this young man who calls himself an agnostic. He is trying, but having troubles with the idea that mankind has an evil true nature apart from God. Not acknowledging the existence of a God or creator is only half the problem. Realizing that his hypothesis has ever been known to be sustainable. He is ignoring the ultimate goal of being perfect. He is walking on both sides of the fence , one minute we are good and then the next minute we are bad. The Truth is that Jesus was without sin and perfect. That is our goal. Not to settle for the whims of mankind as being a cheap substitute for hope and an eternal Peace. Choose, God or Mankind? Its one or the other, we are not to be an equal to God. Does an infant make demands on an all loving and caring mother. Is it done out of duty or Love? Are we machines with no level of purpose or value? So many angles and a much deeper understanding of Truth and how we get their with faith.

I was reading your comment and here's a question I think you should consider. How can you have a reliable belief system like you say you do without an ultimate truth? You believe in karma yes? So if you do good good will come back to you. What is good? You think it's good to be kind to people and wrong to kill people correct? Why. Who said so? If we're all just accidental creatures here for no reason with no creator and no meaning like the wild animals why can't I kill someone for my own personal gain? And if you say "well I think it's wrong" that doesn't work because then I could say "I think it's right and you have no standard to tell me I'm doing evil because that's just your opinion" but we KNOW it is evil Because there is a God. He created right and wrong and he made you able to know what is truly wrong and right. Your idea of "karma" just proves he is real because you believe in a good and an evil and he gave you a concious therefore you conclude hurting others is wrong. Here is the gospel broken down God created the earth. Everything in it and mankind and it was good. However God didn't just want robots to walk around and obey him all day did he? So he gave us free will. The ability to choose, then adam and eve betrayed him and sinned against our perfect God but He had a plan he promised them that he would send a perfect lamb to pay for ALL the wrongdoing of the world every last sin, a free gift they did nothing to deserve at all. A few thousand years later God sent his only son into the world to die on a cross and bear the sins of the entire world all the murder lust pride hate selfishness evil. All of it. Then he conquered death and rose again three days later! (Therse historically over 500 eye witnesses who saw this and almost all historians agree with it's documentation) all we have to do is believe in him that he was buried and rose again three days later, repent of our sins and turn to jesus. Read about him in the gospels and you will see he is the ONLY true light and the purest love there is ♥️

@@mintycoffee04 well yes! Many of our moral rules in the government actually came from God. The bible was written by nearly 40 people over thousands of years and there is not a single error. People have tried and searched for them for years but it is always each time debunked. it's infallible,( not to mention every single prophecy was fufilled which had happened for no other relegion. Mormons have false prophecies and Jehovah witnesses but none in the bible) , so if the bible is indeed correct. then when God made man and made morals and men knew God. They clearly knew right and wrong and passed that on. How do you know what's wrong? Your parents told you and their parents before them and so on and so forth to the beginning of time when God created the world and humans sinned and created evil, so the government is just making laws based on what they've been taught since the beginning of time historically. It just goes down the line from Adam and Eve to us now . The ten commandments the golden rule all of it is from the bible. No one can have morals unless they come from somewhere and whether you like it or not MANY of the ones we adhere to are biblical. Unfortunately humans rebels against God and allow wrong things like the murder of babies and people still get drunk and cheat on their spouses and all sorts of terrible things but the basic laws of the country like respect authority don't kill anyone else take care of your childred allll came from the bible. There is not a single person who is a "good person" of themselves. None can do good apart from God Romans 3:23"for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." There is no such thing as a "good person" we are all sinful no matter how much you give to charity or try and be nice to people you fall short. Trying your best is not enough, that's why God doesn't make us try our best to be good. Think about it; Every other religion says do good things! Give to charity be nice and YOU will get the reward! Even karma. Do good to others and you will get good. Christianity the true gospel is the ONLY thing in the world that says. You can't,... you can't be good enough but you don't HAVE TOO because jesus Christ died for you he took the punishment that you deserve. You didn't have to do good to others you to get a reward you cant save yourself from your punishment but God will save you and not only that but give you eternal life and love and peace if you believe on him. If karma said "no matter how nice you are to others they will always be evil to you and you will get nothing in return." No one would do it. Everyone would look out for themselves because we are selfish sinful creatures by nature. So to answer you truthfully I'm sorry to sound hurtful because I want to help you but the truth is. No. You cannot be a good person apart from God no one is a good person he is the only source of good and our only way to true love and kindness is through Jesus Christ. He's the only God. Whether you believe it or not. And when you stand before God (which you will despite what you believe about there not being an afterlife) saying "I was a good person" will not get you into heaven . Only through the sacrafice of Jesus on your behalf

Very logical response and question -- can I ask a few follow up questions for you? 1) Can you give me an example or a couple examples of things you "don't agree with" in the Bible? 2) You have empathy, compassion, and kindness because of God. You don't have to believe in Him to have such -- as you are created in His image. Without believing in God -- how can one explain the inherit goodness nearly ALL children have? All children are born pure and good -- with those morals in them. Nobody teaches it -- it is their lives and upbringing that then influences and either enhances those morals or degrades them. Without a God -- how can that be? How can a child be born with those same experiences and feelings without being taught it? 3) What do you believe is the cause of humans on this earth? How did we end up here and at the stage we are at?

The guy talking about where our morals come from is absolutely correct as I see it, we're more than capable of working out a system of moral behavior without the need for a God of some description, every society/civilization known to man has had such a system, some worked better than others, we are social creatures that thrive and survive on cooperation, in order for that to happen we must have a set of rules. Here in the UK in 2021 we live in pretty much a secular society that runs reasonably well without the need for a God. People are free to believe in any God they wish.

I have a question. When I was younger, I had gone to a christian elementary school, went to church almost every Sunday, and was baptized shortly after accepting jesus as my Lord and savior around 12 years old. It is now around 15 years later, and I do try to live a "Christian" life, I do not personally follow the religion and find the idea of monotheism to not resonate with me any longer. Assuming that Christianity is the correct religion, if I were to die right now, would I as a current non believer be condemned to hell because I do not currently believe or would I go to heaven because in my heart of hearts did believe when I was younger? I don't think I've heard of a clause in the Bible that states anything about this. If anyone has any information, I would love to hear.

  • @sidewinder5167

So this is what I've been taught and I had a similar issue. As a kid I went to church every Sunday and did all the church things and got baptized when I was younger and then shortly after during highschool I stopped going and didn't go for 6+ years. Finally around being 20 I believe I started going to a new church which explained a lot more to me and christianity gravitated towards me more and I had a better understanding of it. I eventually got baptized again knowing fully that I was a believer and that nothing would change that, even if I stepped away at times. My pastor made a good point and said if you truly believed at one time, truly and deeply and knew you were saved and knew jesus was your savior then you can't take it back. He said you might step away for a week, a month, a year, or decades but you can't unsave yourself. Once you're saved you're saved so the only question you should ask yourself is whether you were truly saved when you were younger. We all have doubts, even I do but at the end of the day I know absolutely where I will be if I died, only bc I'm saved. So if you think about whether you're saved and whether you will go to heaven if you died, and you can't absolutely say you will, then you may not have been saved at all bc going to church every Sunday and sitting in a building and reading the bible is not what it means to truly be saved. That's why the bible states there are wolves in sheep's clothing. A lot of people claim to be christian but really aren't. The only way to truly be christian is understand that jesus died for you and that only through his grace and goodness are we able to have eternal life, not by any other way, not by being baptized or going to church every Sunday, etc. That's the only thing required of us and if we truly believe that, then following him, going to church, reading scripture, doing good, it all follows after we follow him. I hope this helps, if you have any questions please let me know. Thank you.

How can you not realise that if your goodness is defined by you/society/culture/majority opinion...you’re a moral relativist because your morals are relative to society and culture whose beliefs and laws and minds change like the wind. One moment yes, next minute no! It’s relative to whichever society or culture you talk to, so it’s not an absolute fixed standard because our society/culture/beliefs will this year deem something good and next year deem it bad. Our idea of good and bad moves and shifts like the wind. God is the same today, tomorrow and yesterday. He is unchangeable and eternal. He is goodness as goodness didn’t exist before him. Nothing exists before him because he is eternal. God is goodness and he is eternal therefore goodness doesn’t flip flop and change all over the place like our cultures and society does. Why do we shift our ideas of goodness if God imprinted goodness in our hearts (our consciences)? Because we can rationalise evil if we really want to do it and we can do it so much that we become numb or habituated to it. Like oh I’ll just have the one, it’s not so bad, and before you know is you’ve eaten the whole packet! At first you knew it was wrong and you tried to rationalise or justify it by lying to yourself that you will only have one, what’s the harm? But because we cannot see the end from the beginning like God, we don’t know what just trying it once will do to us. We try it, and of course we keep doing it over and over until we are so used to it that we not only eat the entire packet, we go looking for more!! Sin can drag you down if you don’t try to stop it by asking God for strength and help to defeat it.

It is true that the Western Societies have been built on Christian values. People born, raised and living in said societies do most likely adhere and live by these values. However, it is extremely naive to say that you would not be alive without God. God, just like QAnon and what other religions point towards, was and has always been a coping mechanism to explain the unexplainable at any given time. First it was the weather phenomenon, then it was the stars, now it is misfortune due to the fact that science is able to answer all of those questions we as humans had two millennia ago. Why is it difficult for people to understand that there is no higher being dictating what happens in your life, and just accept that life comes and goes, it gives and takes. Moreover, if you'd broaden your point of view away from the US exceptionalism, you'd quickly realize that most of the other Western World has already embraced science as an explaining factor to most questions we have, and don't stick by ancient rules set in place by popes who heavily manipulated the scriptures to feed into their own needs (new testament).

Again we have the "believe eight impossible things before breakfast" method, similar to the scrolling story line before a Star Wars movie. It takes a lot of setup and a lot of "just so" stories to make any religion work. Christianity has been running this rodeo for just under 2000 years. If you have a question, any question, you can bet an optimized response has evolved during that two millennia of dialog and suppression. Most of the complex and clever responses are well meaning and yet intellectually zombie-like, lacking a core belief, but having firm reflection in current written doctrine (thank God for Gutenberg). It is the written word of God version 1951.1.5. Modern revisions are done through whole Bible version generation. Here are versions not including thousands of (perfect...) translations: GNT, HB, LXX, MT, AAT, AMP, ASV, BV, CEV, ESV, GNB, HCSB, JB, KJ21, KJV, KNOX, MNT, MSG, NABR, NASB, NEB, NET, NETS, NIV, NJB, NJKV, NLT, NRSV, NTLP, NTME, NTMS REB, RSV, TCNT, TLB, TNIV, and WET. I hope someone is in charge of revision control.

Ah yes, the classic “I’ve lost all of my formal debates with well educated adults on the topic so now I’ve resorted to debating college kids who are more than likely not to be as educated in religion/epistemology as I am.” I realize this is an older video from 2019 but the fact it is being uploaded now, after Cliffe horribly bombed his last handful of debates with educated adults is a clear indicator his world is a bit shook at the moment. I would encourage people to watch his recent slavery debate with his son Stuart against Matt Dilahunty and Dr. Josh, as well as the one he did about a week ago with his other son against TJUMP. There you can hear the flaws each one of his opponents points out in his arguments and see how aggressive he quickly becomes during what’s supposed to be civil debate. Both of his sons are incredibly civil and respectful the entire debate which respect regardless if I disagree with them on god, however Cliffe likes to take the aggressive approach once he’s backed into a corner which is not useful at all if the point is to actively listen to your opponent and then respectively give your rebuttal. It’s not a good trait to have if you’re someone who is genuinely interested in discovering the truth. This is a huge reason why I’m not an AronRa fan. Although I agree with him on a god perspective level, I can’t stand his aggressive and snarky approach to it. No one on either side will be open to changing their mind if you’re a complete condescending douche to them about it. Which both Aron and Cliffe like to be.

If you watch any of his formal debates with educated adults that know more about the religion than he does, his arguments fall apart pretty quickly which is when he often turns aggressive. Also correct, he is human and has flaws just like you and me. However, I have no issues staying calm and respective to those who disagree with me just as long as they show me the same respect back because I value civil discourse. In his most recent debate 5 days ago with his son vs TJUMP, "the grace of god" did nothing to help him stay calm. His son on the other hand was extremely civil.

Here you go my friends, the gospel: First, the most terrifying truth in scripture is... God is Perfectly Good! I know this seems like totally good news but It isn't. We, humans, sure as hell aren't Good. So, God who is perfectly Holy and the Just judge will not and can not let a single sinner go unpunished due to His Holiness. Bad news for all humans who sin like me(and you if you sin too). Good news -> God is not only Justice/Holy but He is Love too. Thus, For God so loved the world that he gave His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus was sent by the Father and voluntarily became flesh. Jesus Christ, who is truly God and truly man, did this so that He would bore our sins and die as a sacrafice on the cross(since the wages of sin is death). On the cross He cried "It is finished". On the cross, He absorbed the Just punishment & righteous wrath of God that was meant for us sinners. He was buried but He did not stay buried because death couldn't hold the Living God and on Sunday, GOD ROSE JESUS FROM THE DEAD validating His claim to be a distinct person of YHWH (the triune God of the Bible). Because Jesus lives, we too may live. Then Jesus ascended to His Father's Right Hand in heaven and He is coming back soon a final time on judgement day to judge all humans. On that day every creature let alone every human, irrsepective of religion, will bow & confess Jesus as LORD with their tongues to the glory of God the Father. Some will do so defeatedly/out of terror of His Holiness and some out of willing praise of His majesty. Whosoever Believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life!!! And salvation from hell/everlasting life in heaven with God is the gift of God not of works. Its All by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. This means we don't deserve to be saved but God did it for His Name sake because He is Love. Whoever denies God's gift (salvation) revealed only in Jesus is still on their way to eternal hell like they deserve. You may deny Jesus by continuing to put your trust in your good works to get you into heaven but it won't work because Holy God will not be bribed. Our "good" works are but dirty rags to Him.

The truth in spirit flows eternally forward the body lies to the spirit and it flows eternally reverse/revere from truth, what Jesus did was healed the spirit and the body. Those who seek the end in Revelations will find it and those who seek the truth in the beginning will find the veil leaving their eyes. Judgement comes to only those who judge, you have your will of creation upon all creation so judge not less ye be, judged yourself. All is forgiven as long as you flow forward in truth, death/darkness took possession of all word, it is only his fault. Everything I've learned, I have learned on my own. I have never read the Bible till after I had my dreams with Jesus, he himself explained things to me. I explained everything in my book. Everyone has all word of creation upon them, each word has their own cell of aura, it is a firmament as this Galactic cell is the body of Christ, it has an aura and you are a word of creation within the body of Christ, you live the body of Christ and he has already died for your sins, that has enabled him as The Lord of Hosts. Within the handshake of all things, Jesus was the Body, he lived the experience of the spirit of the most high and the will of the father is the will within the body of Christ he gets to live the body of Christ with no powers, only faith, he will only present himself by the word and he stands firm with all the word. Genesis, Moses is not leading us into the book of word he is leading us out, back to the beginning. (Example) God placed a firmament between all the word and us as word have been placed within a six feet firmament caused by the corona-tion/crown lasted a year. Next is the (word was God) goes on all this year. Next year the word will start understanding these things and it will be, the (word was with God.) Next year after the word will have their full understanding of these things and God will be one with (the Word) as they are the bride to the body of Messiah, then Jesus by will, have ascended to the father, Jesus is proof that even death will experience life. (Bible says, God comes by the truth of your heart is your crown)means/corona, it is also your body and your Galactic cell upon Omega. We are the word of God and our actions are the signs of word, welcome to the corona/tion. Each sentence in the Bible is a sentence from order and each sentence is a year sentence as (1 in the beginning was the word) and (2 the word was with God) and (3 the word was God) (4 and the corona/crown has placed us as word six feet of firmament from each other.) Truth of word flows eternally forward as the distortion of truth is number, numb/cold power numb/ber. The multitudes are being taken back from death/darkness as legion is many, took everything from all the word. The light in the darkness is this grain of earth within this universal body and it is protecting all of life as you have a Galactic cell out there and this Galactic cell we are in right now is the body of Christ, you live the body of Christ within Omega as you have all word/will of creation upon you, within each cell is a throne, for all word of creation, you have your will/word of creation upon equal me/a/sure, you are a universal body, when this is over you will be shown all your action and consequence upon your Galactic realm and when trust is earnt you will claim your universal body again, within this multiverse. (universe/unity of verse/unity of word. I wrote a book it is all over the world, the book is called, The last shall be the first and the first shall be the last by Joseph Darrell Walker. If you know the Bible then you will know everything. Voices in head are not mental, think positive and legion as he is many will leave. Genesis/Moses isn't leading us into the darkness, he is walking us out of it, so read 4,3,2,1, and it will make better sense. All things fall, back to GOD, Isaiah 11;12. The more you wake people up, by that measure has woke up unto you so speak truth to the fullest and you will find faith walking within you.

So...Stuart thinks that other ancient texts do not have the ring of truth in them and that they are intellectually bankrupt. Apparently, Stuart is lying when he says he's actually studied these other religious manuscripts. PROPHECIES FROM HINDU AND BIBLE From passages of the Bible and apocryphal Gospels, against that of the Hindu Books, we find the following: 01) {Hindu} - "He {redeemer} shall come, crowned with lights, the pure fluid issuing from the great soul dispersing darkness." 01) {Bible} - "The people of Galilee of the Gentiles which sat in darkness saw great light" [Mth. 4. from Isaiah 9: 1-2]. 02) {Hindu} - "In the early part of the Kali-Yuga shall be born the son of the virgin." 02) {Bible} - "Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bare a son" [Isaiah 7 quoted in Mth. 1:23]. 03) {Hindu} - "The Redeemer shall come, and the accursed Rakhasas shall fly for refuge to the deepest hell." 03) {Bible} - "Behold, now, Jesus of Nazareth, with the brightness of his glorious divinity, put to flight all the horrid powers of darkness" [Nicodemus]. 04) {Hindu} - "He shall come and life will defy death, and he shall vivify the blood of all beings, shall generate all the bodies, and purify all souls." 04) {Bible} - "And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish" [Jhn. 10:28]. 05) {Hindu} - "He shall come, and all animated beings, all the flowers, plants, men, women, the infants, the slaves, shall together intone the chant of joy, for he is the Lord of all creatures. He is infinite, for he is power, for he is wisdom, for he is beauty, for he is all and in all." 05) {Bible} - "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, he is just, for how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty. Corn shall make the young men cheerful and new wine the maids" [Zech. 9]. 06) {Hindu} - "He shall come, more sweet than honey and ambrosia, more pure than the lamb without spot." 06) {Bible} - "Behold the lamb of God" [Jhn. 1:36]. "He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter" [Isaiah 53]. 07) {Hindu} - "Happy the blest womb that shall bare him." 07) {Bible} - "Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb" [Luke 1]. "Blessed is the womb that bare thee" [Luke 11:27]. 08) {Hindu} - "And God shall manifest his glory, and make his power resound, and shall reconcile Himself with His creatures." 08) {Bible} - "God manifest forth his glory" [Jhn. 1st. Ep.]. "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself" [2 Cor. 5]. 09) {Hindu} - "It is in the bosom of a woman that the ray of the divine splendour will receive human form, and she shall bring forth, being a virgin, for no impure contact shall have defiled her." 09) {Bible} - "Being an unparalleled instance, without any pollution or defilement, and a virgin shall bring forth the Lord" [Gospel of Mary, 3]. These prophesies and their realization preceded Christianity, and Christna preceded Christ. No matter how much you detest the thought. I must say, Stuart, when you have to start lying to win souls to your side: you've lost.

Evil exists and the human mind in all of us has a sense of justice to perceive it, when death comes for this fragile creation the judgement of Justice will destroy evil in Hell. @@mitchellc4 Have you not looked into the doctrine of the trinity? One God, but three distinct persons. Can't comprehend it? Good. Why should we be able to comprehend the being of God? Jesus is God, the Son and when Jesus is referring to his God, we see God the Son referring to God the Father. That is totally consistent with all the verses you shared, and there are verses that imply Jesus is YHWH, God, which you MUST also take into consideration. One place is Hebrews 1:10-12. Notice that this is being said of Jesus, and if you look at the Psalm being quoted, it is clearly a psalm praising YHWH. That means Jesus is YHWH

Students were doing a great job explaining why they are and can be valuable without a god, then as usual, Cliffe runs out of arguments and tells them they're fantasising and video ends. This man is full of crap and even students run rings around his puerile logic. As soon as he realises he's dealing with a student who's smarter than him, he closes the conversation down. He's dangerous too because he regularly tells people that if they don't accept God, then it makes no difference if they're good people or they're mass murderers. Great moral teaching, Cliffe. NOT!!
