Just by the 911 calls, how does “a man taking pictures” automatically qualify as a call needing a police response? There’s no follow up questions by the 911 operator like, what is he doing? Is he trespassing on private property? Is he harassing people? It’s just ‘man taking pictures’. That is not ILLEGAL.

  • @alchapwn

It's not a 911 dispatches job to inforce or give legal advice. That's for the police to determine if it's legal or not but cops are so dog shit at their job it's a shame that dispatch can't inform people on what's legal but if they gave advice over the phone without the cops checking it out it opens it up for a lawsuit.

The police are too stupid to actually ask intelligent questions and investigate, you actually think 911 operators are up to the task? Now, I 110% agree with your point, and that’s exactly what should happen, but it won’t, so I’ll settle for stripping police of ALL qualified immunity and forcing them to carry their own liability insurance (and to pay any settlements out of that and their own pockets, NOT those of the taxpayers), as that should give them some incentive to actually learn how to do their jobs properly. Oh yeah, and mandatory tripling of any sentence for criminal convictions - those entrusted with great power must bear great responsibility, and any abuse of that trust must be punished severely.

Dispatch is usually overly dramatic individuals who love to esculate even the most miniscule situation. They get a euphoric feeling of accomplishment when they're able to have someone brought in simply by answering the phone. It would feel too much like a "job" to explain when something is lawful or unlawful. They'd much rather sends the "dogs" out to hunt.

These police are wrong from the initial phone call. "There's a guy taking pictures." The dispatcher asks what ethnic category. The dispatcher should be schooled enough in the law to know that taking pictures is legal. The dispatcher should be asking the caller if there has been any crime committed. Not sending cops to show up and attempt to display how they can chase off an offender who did not offend.

Many things made illegal are because government doesnt get a cut. Booze? Illegal till government gets taxes from it, then perfectly legal. Mary jane? Illegal till they got a cut in it. Cant make home made firearms, till you get your FFL, i.e tax, then perfectly legal. See where this is going? Driving a car, has to be registered, pay a sales tax, yhen add in all the dmv bs. Back in the day, there was none of that. You cant build your own car to drive, thats illegal. You can once you have it tested for safety, have a business license, then get it registered.

If he was having a slow day he'd go down to manpower and earn some cash driving people to work sites. All tax free except for manpower. Pretty good racket. Personally, it's too fucking hot out to be out there on the streets all day.

@Were_made2023 a better question is why are police dispatchers sending police to nonsense calls ? It tells me; police officers are bored. They have nothing to do, so police dispatchers will send police officers to anything just to keep police officers busy. People, we don't need police, there's no crime going on anywhere. I'm gonna also say; this is why police officers will try and turn something that's nothing into an arrest. They have nothing going anyway. Yes, DEFUND THE POLICE across America ! Yes, cut off 3/4 of The Police Department's Budget across America !
