Incredibile. Rispetto per cotanta forza vocale. Impressionante come la voce viaggi potente. Immagino quando A casa faceva i vocalizzi. Veniva giù l'intonaco Ahahah. Purtroppo non ho mai avuto l'onore di ascoltarlo a teatro.

Io sì, per mia immensa fortuna. Più volte in Aida e ne I Pagliacci, una volta ne La Forza del Destino e in Tosca, due volte il Turandot e La Fanciulla del West, ancora ne La Gioconda. Una voce che oltrepassava lo stomaco per fermarsi nel cuore e farlo esplodere. Non saprei come quantificare tanta potenza e bellezza di timbro. A volte aveva delle serate poco felici, ma anche in quelle rare occasioni emergeva il talento innato e la tecnica perfetta, l’interpretazione grandiosa.

Man ! His man's magnificent voice ( the dark sound for a tenor ) makes you forget one of the greatest ... His _Manrico_ must be one of the richest-sounding.

Bravo! Lui e Bonisolli avevano la voce da "Arena" 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Beautifully sing given that the location, the acoustics and the conditions can't have been as easy as in some handy urban opera theatre.

He really sounds great here, I did read that as good as he sings, sometimes he wasn't as good and has some problems with his singing. Perhaps that's why he wasn't as famous as he should have been. Obviously he sure has the volume and this was just excellent.

...that’s a very fine Radames Sound! The Tenors of the Golden Age watch it with great joy from Tenor Heaven. Todays contemporaries desperately try to perform. GG sings it!

Pavarotti didn't have the right voice for this aria. He managed without difficulty but didn't create a strong effect

dijean horton I believe his voice did not have the swiftness. Helentenors use a german technique. Different from giocomoni's.

이준혁 when you look at the German repertoire for the dramatic/heldentenor, the tessitura is lower then the italian repertoire. I think he would have been well able to sing and champion the rep. Vickers did. I think it had less to do with technique and more to do with language Giacomini probably didn't develop the German diction.

I would actually say the opposite -- much of the heldentenor repertoire is quite high, with the exception of Siegmund and maybe a small handful of others. Look at the the prize song from Meistersinger, for instance, or any of Siegfried. Usually, older, loud lyrics/spintos that have built up strength over a career end up singing it. An Italian dramatic tenor often sits lower.

Del Monaco sang Wagner with German much better than Giacomini but not as good as Melchior or Vinay or Vickers.

Better than Domingo? Domingo can only stand on Giuseppe's toes. Domingo is a passable singer, Giacomini is unsurpassable.

Non era necessario falsare l'audio con effetti di riverbero cosi esagerato negli echi per riconoscere quanto grande sia stata la sua voce nella lirica mondiale... Pochi sono stati i tenori dalla voce possente. Tra questi, Pertile, Merli, Masini, Corelli, Bonisolli, Cecchele ed in ultimo lascio il top, mai eguagliato, Mario Del Monaco..

When my tenor singing voice matures it might sound like Giuseppe Giacomini or Ramon Vinay.
