    Vernon Andres-Quentin - Took the words out of my mouth. Let me add that there is money being spent whenever the Trump children travel to other countries to make deals in their dad's name, which includes the cost of secret service protection, which isn't just the pay checks of personnel. It includes rental cars and gas, hotel rooms and food and incidentals, for two guys and their wives and kids here and there. It is true that we would normally pay for security but in this instance, we should not have to pay the owner of the property to protect him on his property. Why can't these uber wealthy people provide their own security for the sons that aren't a part of the admin? The other thing I like to point out is what happened at Trump Tower in Manhattan. Before the election, the Secret Service moved into Trump Tower to protect Trump and Family. They normally set up a floor away from the President, and that is what happened when they rented the floor in Trump Tower. They put their people in and the equipment and furniture and things and they were there for a while before there was suddenly a problem with the lease. The landlord was trying to change the terms of the rental on the new tenant that had occupied the unit for the last year or so. The tenant was shocked, but there was no reasonable agreement to be had, so they left. The tenant is the secret service, let's recall, so they can't just abandon the person they are protecting, who in this case is the landlord. What was the solution? They had to set up in a trailer outside the building instead.

    Yeates appears to have violated the Logan Act. I never cared for Trump as someone coming from a family of Democrats, either, but it is totally true the FBI investigated the matter and found that Trump had nothing to do with Russia or collusion, etc. So Guiliani is correct that there should have never been an investigation to begin with as we don't investigate people in the United States, we investigate crimes. Because I really have to apply the "if the shoe were on the other foot test" and I know those of us who self -identify as Democrats would not be defending so much of this if Secretary Clinton were treated this way. In fact, and intellectual honesty forces me to say it, she was obviously let off the hook as were many of her staff who we now know lied to FBI investigators. Since this interview, too, we have also seen that the FBI even went so far as to have individuals go undercover and work as informants to get to people in Trump's campaign. There's evidence, too, that shows President Obama was right on top of all this and wanted to be kept informed, which may all be perfectly fine, or perhaps not if we find that the use of a counterintelligence campaign was used as cover to spy on Trump and there is evidence to suggest that. President Obama also, by the way, has said that Russia in no way affected the outcome of the election. So we really do have to get away from prosecuting our political opponents and those we simply do not like. I didn't vote for him, either, but Trump is also achieving a lot of good things as president and I never expected it. Even the NY Times, yesterday -in reviewing all the various components of the economy - said they were running out of adjectives to describe how good it now really is. Trump's been rather judicious in his use of the military, too, though following through against Syria for using chemical weapons when the U.S. can't sit by and let innocent women and children be gassed. He's also addressing prison reform which will help blacks most, and if he is able to pull off this deal with North Korea, and he's closer than anyone else has ever been, I'll definitely have to start, and already have, looking at him in a different light. He's a New Yorker and says things off the top of his head, a lot of times about things that are not even important, and is wrong. But on the policy stuff, he is usually right and I am coming to find that the press very often takes his quotes out of context. Not all the time, but a lot. Intellectual honesty forces me to admit that I was wrong before, in many ways, and I wish the Democrats would stop talking impeachment and talk policy solutions or we'll never take back Congress.

I guess it’s because you are clearly a genius with private knowledge of what’s really been happening in Trumps world. I’m not going to tell you to keep your dumb mouth shut because I believe in the first amendment right, but I will say that you might want to either wait for the investigation to finish or start your own investigation & don’t take the information from just one source.

    I felt it was a good interview, too. I go where the evidence goes, also - and read and watch all the different papers and channels to piece this together. And as to Guiliani, he has one of the greatest records as a lawyer than anyone, whether we like him or not. So people bashing him and acting as if we know better and he is wrong really is ridiculous. Oh my... Your reply is so loaded. There is just so much here that needs to be unpacked. And so much of it is wrong. I am a New Yorker and have listened and had to deal with these two (Trump and Giuliani) from their high jinx with the mafia, the scamming workers and contractors, the stop and frisk program, constant law suits, bankruptcy to the Central Park Five and more for over 50 years. And trust me, the LAST two people I would ever trust are these two. They lie from the moment they wake up to the second they fall asleep. New Yorkers know they would not vote for either of these guys. Crooked all the way. Honestly and truly you should check their backgrounds.

  • @christophertyler5544

    @christophertyler5544

    Hi JoAnn and intellectual honesty and looking at all the facts is how I come to my decisions while I can see, unfortunately, that Democrat partisanship will probably keep us Democrats from taking back Congress. Also, we have to be able to take on the arguments and stop attacking people unless they have clearly been shown to have lied such as Mr. Comey, etc. You also said New York knows these guys and would never vote for them, but Guiliani was elected Mayor, twice, wasn't he? And, whether we agree or not, he is also if not the most popular Mayor in New York history, or right near the top and that is another fact. (the only reason his reputation is now suffering is because he is defending Trump) Trump is a TV guy and personality, who is boastful and exaggerates, etc., and lies, more often than not about stupid stuff that does not matter. (Crowd size, etc.) But I also see the media - if I am to be honest - take what he says out of context. For example, he called MS13 a bunch of animals and then all our more left wing stations made it sound like he was calling great or wonderful immigrants these names. Society is too polarized and we all have to stop trying to lock people up or destroy them because we don't like them. And as I pointed out, I can't honestly deny that a lot of the things are going good, especially for the black community too. I'm aware of the ultimate ruling on Stop and Frisk, when at the same time, I'm aware of the many very sound studies that show it saved many, many black lives. And Guiliani did a great job wiping out the mob, while if he were as bad as you say, he would have been indicted for crimes. So you can trust me on this. When the next IG report comes out, the FBI is not going to look very good;-( Also, President Trump - as much as he irritates me sometimes - is also not going to be found guilty of collusion and has already been cleared, actually, by the FBI. What will happen is Mueller will release a report to try and make Republicans look bad prior to the mid-terms and that may help influence the elections. But so far, any indictments he has brought forth, and it has been a long time, are for things that have nothing to do with Trump, and things, too, that are not typically prosecuted. For example, Tony Podesta's brother did many of the same things as Manafort and has yet to be indicted, but maybe he will be. But Manafort was indicted so they could cut a deal with him to see if he would say something bad about Trump. Typical government tactics. While my concern is, as I said, or should have, if we do this to them...meaning start investigating people rather than crimes...it is going to boomerang on us and it is also making us much more like the Soviet Union than a Republic is the main point.

    There is no one who could change my mind regarding Trump and Giuliani. Most (if not all) of the talking points you share here are skewed info from Breitbart and/or Fox. They are not news. They are opinion-based commentators and pundits (especially Hannity and Pirro who is also a New Yorker). I have lived Trump and Giuliani and everything they get is through some crooked deal or another. FYI: Independent not Democrat. I vote for those who make sense. Not someone who has to tell me that he's smart. That's something you never have to "tell" others.

    Really impressed with Chris Cuomo -- he challenged Giuliani's points very well. Giuliani doesn't seem to be interested factual arguments, he seems to just want to muddy the waters for his client in the hopes it'll be useful later. When Chris provided Giuliani's own opinion, on video, from the 1990s on why Clinton can be questioned but Trump cannot, he declared that this was "unfair" -- why is it unfair to have your own words used against your arguments? He didn't want the video to show him being hypocritical and hence complained. Quite amusing to remember how the GOP and Republican members used to be the party that pretended it respected law enforcement agencies.

More concerning for any Trump defender out there is that Guiliani can't keep track of his **own** statements and explanations. Even just in this interview he makes contradictory statements. If Trump had any sense he would get a different lawyer - Guiliani has been a liability so far and is not doing Trump any favours with TV efforts like these.

    I go where the evidence goes and read and watch all the different papers and channels to piece this together. And as to Guiliani, he has one of the greatest records as a lawyer than anyone, whether we like him or not. So people bashing him and acting as if we know better and he is wrong really is ridiculous. He's a New Yorker and says things off the top of his head, a lot of times about things that are not even important, or policy related, and is wrong.

    Cuomo is a great interviewer and he doesn't seem to be picking sides while somewhat remaining open to views from both sides of the issue. I also like that he is giving Giuliani time to speak without speaking over him each time. I like when one can remain neutral and still get an effective outcome.

    We're talking about the fact that the tactic of violating the attorney/client privilege could have very easily been broken here. Coming from a family of Democrats, I have to still be honest here. And if this were Hillary Clinton, we know the ACLU would be all over this. It's a tactic rarely if ever used, honestly.

    You might be referring to a comment somewhere else in this clip; I'd have to review to know. However, a master...master, whatever the title...master reviewer, et al, has been assigned to review where any such privilege might exist. My comment...was in reference to giuliani simply...lying...he knows better...as he called them "storm troopers" days ago...trying to give the people the impression that the FBI banged down his door, etc. That is not true; nor is giuliani's comment in once again indicating such. I hope you will see where truth has once again been forfeited by the trump team, giuliani in particular here. If truth does matter to you.
