GITSCHEN 2513m / Alpine Hike high above Urnersee / from Isenthal, Musenalp / Central Switzerland
"Der Wächter am Urnersee" - GITSCHEN 2513m - also known as "The Skull".
"Alpinwandern von feinsten" - very enjoyable alpine hike, for many people belongs this mountain to the absolute best panorama summits in the Central Switzerland. Very iconic mountain of this region, that lies high above Fluelen & "Urnersee" Lake of Uri.
Together with it's neightbour mountain "Uri Rotstock" 2929m, they're one of the most beautiful alpine tour of this region.
We got here with a car via "Isleten" to village of Isenthal. From Isenthal with a car to "Chlital" to the end of the road. For this road from Isenthal to Chlital you have to pay tax 5chf,- a day.
Chlital "Neuhuttli" - Musenalp about 40min hiking path. Or taking a privat cable car to Musenalp.
MUSENALP-GITSCHEN 3Hours 20 Min.
Lenght: 4,28km
Difficulty: T5 (but well marked, and secured all the way)
Height gain: 1120m

A beaufitul video. A question ... at 1:20 there is a sign between Gitschen und Uri Rotstock. Did you go to the left and follow the hiking path all the way to the pass close to Gitschen? Or did you go to the right initially towards Uri Rotstock and then scrambled the ridge over Rot Gitschen? You guys often hike not on regular paths. So I wondered.

I'm not sure but as you can always see the blue-white markings, I guess they went the way indicated on the sign directly to Gitschen.
