I wouldn't ridicule him for not spending 100K wisely. To be fair, it's not uncommon to think and execute to the level of knowledge you have. Guy says they bought furniture and whatnots. While he may not have handled such an amount of money all at once before, I can say with utmost certainty that money doesn't solve problems nor eradicate poverty if you haven't as much financial intelligence.
