The blocked rider had to sit back in the saddle momentarily and stop his sprint run as Viviani bumped and blocked him. Note also that V only started to move dramatically to the left after the blocked rider caught half way up his bike. He knows while he had plenty of space directly in front.

Just the right decision and good thing they're not being bias just because he's the Italian National Champ. Let's prevent riders from becoming like CRASHendish who can't stay on his bike upright and always causes crashes. I'm glad he's out of form now and not causing the peloton to crash.

I can;t make out the rider but its clear the rider was almost half a bike length behind and gaining on viviani but viviani swerved and covered him which caused hot to ease off the pedals and take evasive action. Bad commentary for not picking up on that straight away. Riders have been relegated for doing much less, but near the barrier. It should be consistent punishment for swerving in the middle of the road as well. You can't see a lot in that Brian Smith? And yet, you saw much more in Peter Sagan for swerving far less feeding an emotional outburst based on assumed intent. Yet clips show Mark colliding with Peter before his arm came up. Maybe you've updated your views? Until then: not forgiven.

Sagan was rising in the middle of the road before he was getting passed by demare and cavendish and then moved all the way to the right cutting of cavendish, who in turn didn't slam his brakes and therefor causing the crash. (my sentence was a bit weird) But what my point was that the crash was not caused by sagans elbow, but by a strong sideways motion as the are passing him. Somewhat similar to viviani's sideways motion here but the rider being cut off had some room to move sideways and slow down to avoid a crash...
