My son used to scare his mom because by three yrs old he was too smart for his mom too fool, he had been talking by 1 1/2 yrs and figuring thing out on his own so by two we were having pretty good conversations with him. he is an AP Student all his life.

My dad at one point took me and my sister to look at puppies and we ended up not getting one for no specific reason but we weren’t upset because we didn’t get one and he surprised us with one of them later that day and I think surprises like that are fine but on the other hand, the children being physically distressed and saddened because of it is way different and unacceptable.

The older sister was so calmly pissed off. That was a fascinating look into an old soul in a young body.

You can tell these sweet girls are being brought up well and they don’t get everything they want. Good job mom & dad. 👍

I am so impressed with their restraint and maturity. They weren’t having a meltdown but were genuinely sad about leaving the puppy behind. Then after getting the puppy, they were gentle and took turns holding him. Impressive!

Did you watch a different video? They were in full manipulation mode. Fake tears (that disappeared rapidly once they got what they wanted, as predicted) are the opposite of “restraint and maturity.” They’ve learned this response WORKS, and it did. I though the parents were being manipulative themselves, and frankly, that is a HORRIBLE way to teach kids about responsibility and decision making and whatever they were trying to do there, other than just screw with them for the sake of some stupid video. Why not have a mature, responsible discussion about the dog, what is required (the Mom admitted they were not prepared! Which is a bit scary for someone who is adopting a puppy.), what they will be expected to do, what kinds of things a puppy needs, etc. It could have been a great learning opportunity, and instead, Mom and Dad chose to manipulate the kids in the guise of “just wanting to see if they really wanted the puppy.” Really? What kid wouldn’t want a cute little puppy they’ve just seen who is up for adoption? That is no “test.” The whole thing was just wrong. If you want to mess with your kids and delay surprises, do it about a trip to Disney or the beach or Grandma’s, not about adopting a dog.

@devildog1982z mate, I was an autistic child. You think that's a meltdown? You ain't seen nothing lmao. They were very restrained and only continued to bawl and talk because their mother encouraged them to express it

This was EXACTLY how me and my brother acted 13 years ago when we got a dog. eventually, we got to our parents and we got the dog. years later, our parents thanked us because they really love the dog and realize we wouldnt have gotten it without me and my brother. the dog was unique, very chill, extremely small, playful, loved the couch, made a great lapdog.

This is one way to see if children are truly ready for pets when they show this much emotion and love.

Even though they were mad. They didn't throw a tantrum at all. Good girls. Great family. And cute puppy.

Imagine this dog lives a long and happy life. Many of the highlights of the dog's and children's lives are recorded by mom and dad, just like this moment. They grow older together. Then, as life dictates, the dog passes. Mom and dad put together a video of the dog's life for the now college bound girls to the sound of music (Yesterday? What a Wonderful World? Somewhere Over the Rainbow? IDK) and...at the end...the music goes off...and the family watches this scene , day #1 when this beautiful puppy entered their lives. Imagine the beauty of the moment in the context of the Big Picture of the dog's entire life.

I love how the little one didn't hog the puppy and let the older one snuggle him too. So sweet..

I cried😭 I understand mom was looking for sincerity, but I know how it feels to leave without the animal you love and never getting the chance to see them again😞 Glad this turned out happy!!

When I was 9 years old I told my dad that I want a puppy. He brought 2! And said tell your mom you asked for 2 puppies 😂

I relate to the older girl because I am never really sad but mostly angry I suppose, but I get yelled at so I have to pretend I’m not. If you add that together, you’d get “dead inside” pretty much lmao

Happy for them. I always loved dogs now I'm 75 an have always had a dog. They give so much love.

I wish I wanted something that badly. When you grow up, your heart dies.

The older sister's comment on remembering the animal til the day she dies is all so true!! I remember our pets we had when growing up 60 years ago & they've had a profound effect on me to this day.

Mark I am 61. My first dog was Black lab named Beau. He was a champion field trial dog. I was 10 when we got him. And I remember all the other and also we've had as pets. Dogs and cats and Turtles LOL

I remember the day a friend of my parents came and collected my pet bunnies, because he had a farm. Yeah! You all know what that means. Thanks to an older brother I cried myself to sleep for weeks.

Emotions changed immediately after they got the dog, love the smiles !

A dog and a child can have a bond that nothing else can fill - mine was one of the only positive things in my childhood.

The way their mom spoke with her kids is very wise and appropriate! 👍👍👍 I learnt love and care when I was 4 or 5 from a one month old kitten.

I felt so bad for the girls at first ; I was crying along with them . 😢

The younger girl was just crying like any other 3 - 5 year old when they want something and you don’t get it for them That older girl was like full on emo and dark at like 8
