biggest reason would probably the budget

I honestly like the idea of spltting them into 12 member units for the 2nd and 3rd week. Gives the other girls some time to rest in between.

Same! Need some more parts for Chaewon but aside from that they divided it up real well. MODHAUS is doing an amazing job If only LOONA girls had gotten lines divided this well 😭

So this is one of the super cool strengths of tripleS, they can split into two groups and create a different feel in the performance! You can clearly hear their voices (prerecorded) for the reassigned parts. Also members are given additional spotlight compared to the OT24 version. Here, Tone gained a lot of more center time, chaewon gained a good amount of front/center time, and lynn and jiyeon gained small moments as well. We got to hear soomin's voice more, even saw seoyeon do yooyeon's "dashi haeboja". I especially enjoyed seeing Chaewon more in this performance! Overall this was a fun watch and it's amazing that I still watch the new music show performances every day! Jaden was kinda genius with this. most kpop group releases I just pick and choose 3 music show performances to watch. Let's be honest - they get repetitive as the weeks go by. This makes me a lot more excited to see next week's performances. Who's gonna get dahyun's and jiwoo's ad libs? My bet is on shion and mayu respectively. Please Modhaus I wanna hear more Mayu vocals! 😭 Also I'm looking forward to hear hayeon's voice more, and I expect Hyerin to be equivalent to Tone here in the sense of gaining a lot more focus and center time. A bit more Sohyun vocals would be nice too. Edit: I saw someone in the comments point out that when kaede took sohyun's line in the 2nd verse, it was with sohyun's voice. i checked and it's true. wow. I went ahead and compared all of the voices in the reassigned lines... I may have deluded myself when writing the comment lol! after thorough examining, it appears most of the reassigned lines were not rerecorded, just completely lip synced. but there are still some examples where i feel like i hear the new voice. phew it's haaaard

yeah and they can promote the same group in multiple ways at the same time. Last year when the unit LOVElution was touring in USA, the unit EVOLution was performing in music shows. It's awesome! They are going to 2 Waterbombs (if not more) this summer (Dubai and Hong Kong), with units of 4 members, marketing the group to two different crowds, when most groups only perform in 1. They can give members a good rest after promotions and still give us multiple albums each year. Ohter groups can't do that. If they try the same thing, the group will be overworked. I love tripleS' system!

i’m discovering them - question: how does this affect line distribution? do they re record the lines? because obviously one member was singing it in the OG track, so what happens when they split into 2?

@@luuna7626 they definitely re-recorded the redistributed lines. you can hear it. here, soomin's voice was singing hayeon's part (1st verse) for example. this happens all the time in kpop. it's a simple thing to re-record vocals for special performances, and those audio files never get released officially for obvious reasons lol

In this team A, Leader/Unnie line is NaKyoung, Xinyu, DaHyun and SeoYeon. But if you see in the tripleS Subunit "Aria", DaHyun is technically the Leader in that Subunit.

What does the S stand for? Also how long did it take you to memorize all 24 members?

For those wondering why there are only 12 members this week, here's what I found. If you watched last week's episode of Weekly Idol, the members wore two different colored tops: pink and blue. The 12 members who wore pink (Team A) are week 2 while the other 12 who wore blue (Team B) are week 3. I hope that helps for everyone.

This is interesting. We can see other members take other parts and each members have their solo shots. But it seems sohyun's voice is still there during kotone's part. And it's too weird without the dance break. I can't wait to see who's going to take dahyun's part nextweek.

I noticed this now that the version with Sohyun actually singing came out... until then I thought they dubbed the entire song with the other girls' voices. but with the version that came out today and with Shion singing Dahyun's part I saw that they sang it themselves! Can we appreciate how hardworking all this girl are. Adapting and memorizing to new formation is not easy. How many hour did they take to learn this 12 member formation and how many left for them to rest?? Triple S seriously deserve a lot of attention, recognition and appreciation from people ❤

I'll be honest, i was sceptical when i heard about the 24 member girl group, but this is actually such a genius idea and they pulled it off so well. They can split off the group and promote concurrently. 12 members here, 4 members there, 8 members there, and no one would really complain because those are the sizes of actual groups already. Modhaus really proving themselves again and again.

yep, they have been doing this since last year in festivals too. It's truly genius. They can even have a world tour where they promote the same group in different continents at the same time (with different units) and still have a comeback in Korea with another unit. Imagine that! The idol of all possibities indeed.

to be fair, the shuffling around of members depending on needs has its disadvantages. or rather, i strongly disagree with modhaus's implementation of it - they NEVER sing live! but that makes it easier when parts are redistributed and members are shuffled around for subunits. so I understand. it's less burden on the girls. fair enough.

Also works for 12 members. 1:33 there was only a small collision between Kotone and Chaewon and then immediately continued as if nothing had happened 👍

I think this keeps things fresh. They likely have other events going on, if you watch TripleS' channel they promote in Lots of ways (even have their own reality show with 2 seasons). If they're asked to perform at school graduations etc they could easily divide into two groups and take on music shows plus other commitments. Their talent is so strong they can still rehearse changes in choreo and vocals and perform this well on the fly!
