Its wishful thinking for us fans at this point. Realistically speaking, how can you say you are still connected to anything under a company if you dont even have a contract under that company anymore right? For example, lets say you ended your contract at McDonalds. You cannot say you are still part of McDonalds or anything McDonalds related if you dont have a contract with the fastfood company anymore right?

Rex091 it’s really not even a fair comparison. For now, let’s trust in our girls. Hyoyeon just said like 2 days ago that they were part of girls generation still. They have said when their schedules match up they while make a comeback as a whole group. They consistently remind us they are still with gg. I do believe they can pull it off if their companies work together. (Although I don’t expect much out of SM ever, we all know SM stands for shitty management.) We will have to wait and see, but I have no reason not to trust the girls. Especially when the 5 under SM just came back as a subunit and not under the name girls generation.

Do people not realize its not only up to the girls. You know have 2 other agencies that are in the mix with a possible 3rd if seohyun ever decides to sign with someone for future endeavors. I'm more inclined to believe they are doing their best to avoid the stink that came from Jessica's departure and for the lack of a better word, shitstorm, that came from it. As said prior, It's very hard to get multiple labels together and agree on promotions, profit splits, schedules, etc. It'll be a pleasant suprise if I'm wrong, but after the last few years with the groups that came up around them, I see them as a 5 member group now.

I’m always thrilled to see Hyo get more lines, but I didn’t expect Sunny to slay the center like that!

YAS QUEENS ARE BACK also just to clarify it's a subunit it's actually called "Girls' Generation-Oh!GG" meaning you say "Oh Gee Gee" at the end of Girls' Generation. Or you could just say "Oh!GG" by itself like you would say "TTS"

Richie Fongdara BTW, "5" in Korean is pronounced "oh", if you didn't know, so the subunit's name could also mean 5GG, as in these are the five "remaining" members of SNSD or there are five people in this subunit.

I feel like this gives Sunny a great time to shine. She has always been so underrated on the Lead Vocal line. I personally think she is better than Tiffany (not hating Tiffany) so I never really understood why when Jessica left most of her lines were covered by Tiffany or Seohyun when Sunny had the most similar vocal color to her and she clearly has the ability to do her lines and she might as well get them because they love to not give her proper lead vocal level lines even though she has been a lead vocal since the beginning. She has always had such a strong voice but people have always pigeonholed her into her cute image. YES, she is cute, but she can slay anything. Her voice isn’t just cute. She has ability and strength and power and technique. Her vocals have just never been properly appreciated because she wasn’t as popular as the other vocal line members. She didn’t play any games here, now all I need from SM is a Sunny solo.

That's because SM has always had Sunny sing in her aegyo voice as I call it. Her voice really shined in this and songs like You Think. I remember yrs ago seeing an acoustic thing she did with some of the other members and I knew she could really sing.

Honestly I became a fan of sunny when I first listened to chocolate love and their Japanese music. I heard her a lot and I was like wooow 😍😍.

I agree! I said the exact same thing after Jessica left. Even though J was my bias 😥, it made more than enough sense to me to give Sunny at least the majority of Jessica‘s lines, but this is SM we’re talking about. They have never done Sunny right as a vocal until now and I always wondered why (I mean I guess the aegyo image thing explained it, but not as they got older). If SM were to give Sunny a solo, I’d be totally here for it

I think korean public speak wise, Tiffany's voice was more appealing to the public. If anything, Tiffany had more stability but Sunny with the right songs, she would be able to smoothly hit high and low notes.

Sunny sings on a lot of their nontitle tracks. She even start some of them and end them. Sunny may not be the main focus of their title tracks but she does control the center of some of the nontitle too. Just checkout their tours and you'll see just how much Sunny sings... especially their ballads. She has always been a great vocalist and dancer. She and Seohyun are the only 2 from the vocal line that can compete with the danecline. There were times in the past were Sunny picked pver Yoona during dance competition. Go back to the early daze of Snad and you'll see this. Sunny took a huge step back going into The Boys era. I don't really know why. But this also led to the time when Jessica too didn't sing as much leading into the I Got A Boy era in their title tracks. I used to think the same but though Sunny is the only vocal line member that get less lines... she sings quite a lot in non title tracks & lead the choreo. Sunny really is the middle man of Snsd... she can be in any position and sometimes that makes it hard to place because she's so fluid.

I’m seeing so much reaction videos of lil touch n everyone’s going crazy on Hyoyeon’s and sunny’s part !! 😂😂😂

Not to intentionally throw any shade, but I'm enjoying SNSD with only 5 girls. OH!GG is what we always needed. Look at Sunny, look at Yuri, YoonA they actually got to showcase their personalities. Sunny got to shine vocally, she got more visual scenes. You wouldn't have gotten that in a full 8 member SNSD mv. I'm so happy for this mv because Sunny shined so brightly and was a complete aesthetic. OH!GG was a true evolution for our Queens that was so needed!!😭❤

Maybe promote the sub unit more than the full group? Bc seeing that 3 left the company and TIFFANY just starting her international career, it will likely take a while for her and the others to comeback as 8. While the 5 in the sub unit still active in Korea, they'll most likely comeback again before ot8

Honestly,it’s nice to see Sunny BACK in the limelight/main vocal again.(sones will remember she was used to hit ALL the EXTREMELY high notes,back in their debut days),and to also see her use her lower registry....which leads me to my Segway topic:Lower singers....I’m intrigued with this new direction of “ladies”/girls generation,of using their lower tones. Since all the main/lead singers are pretty much gone,they HAVE to deal with musically going in the direction of the MAIN dancers,who coincidently have lower tones,combining them with Tae’s (and MAYBE sunny’s “Lower”)tone,to have a new sound. Because EVERY Kpop girl group fan,KNOWS NATURALLY,the average girl group songs are like SIREN high! Lol!...so I’m interested on what they will sound like now.

same!! i'm so happy Sunny has more lines to show her voice! I've always loved her voice (except when she sings like a baby) she is a great vocalist ^^

Girls' Generation-Oh! in Hangul is 소녀시대 오 which means Girls Generation Five (Oh in hangul is 오 which is the same writing for the number 5). Girls' Generation is just one of those groups where it doesn't matter who joins or leaves they always release hits. Each member had their designated area of expertise and I find so refreshing to see those area be taken down and re-done to fit the new line up. I feel like if SM would've made another three member sub unit this is what their sound would've been like. And people forget that Yoona is apart of the dance line, during SNSD baby years Yoona would perform with Hyoyeon and Yuri, and it wasn't until 2010 that she got "replaced" by Sooyoung. Each girl brings something to the table, and steps up to bat when the time calls for it. Taeyeon, Jessica, Seohyun, and Tiffany usually got the high notes but since Jessica, Seohyun, and Tiffany aren't there Sunny stepped up and showed the world that she is a vocalist for a reason. Hyoyeon and Yuri got their little parts here and there in other songs but now they be singing the chorus together with Taeyeon. The song is a bop, the dance is fire, and the girls look amazing! I feel proud!

To reiterate like others, this is just a sub-unit. Its not GG as a whole now. The others are still apart of GG but arent with SM, so until their schedules match up and can do a group comeback, we're just getting the sub-unit. As far as the video is concerned, yall Sunny and Hyoyeon brought it. When Sunny said would you give it up, i said hell yes do you even have to ask?? It really showed the others off in a way that they couldn't as 9 or as 8 tbh and im here for it!!

Andre Drew it has nothing do with schedules matching up. The other girls genuinely wanted to focus on other fields that SM couldn’t help them with such as acting as well as Tiffany wanting to start a career in the United States with acting as well as music. I don’t think there will be a time where they all absolutely have free time not only that there would also have to be solid communication between all 4 agencies which can also get very messy

Maxi Tiffany herself has said when their schedules match up they’ll comeback as a group. Sooyoungs company said that they’ll work with SM so that she can still promote with the group. Idk about Seohyun but she always promotes herself as a member of Girls Generation. I’m incline to believe the girls

Andre Drew only time will tell. I highly doubt though there companies are gonna drop what their doing or put anything on hold for a comeback. Especially when it comes to filming a drama or a movie. For example they can have free time to record the song(s) but when I comes to promotions they may not have that extra time. Song prep can take months to years not only that they have to work out how each of them are getting paid and who gets what cut. It’s genuinely really messy all in all no matter how you want to look at it. I will admit I’m hopeful that they can work something out but at the same time I’m also prepare not to be upset if they can’t.

Maxi Tiffany isn't signed to a Korean company so she doesn't have the same struggles. I'm pretty sure that Seohyun manages herself or her dad does. Tiffany said herself that when the girls all want a group comeback she'd drop everything and go.

Sunny is my bias too! They always give her the cute or higher pitched parts but here she can showcase her amazing lower register and her belts! And yup she's hella versatile and looks good doing cute or mature concepts (well that's all of gg really haha). And sm did not skimp on her lines! I am so happy with this release 😭

Please stop this. 2 of the 3 are already signed with other labels. Other than BEG's 2015 era of being all signed to seperate labels yet still promoting due to companies being ungodly cooperative and allowing promotions, you will have to wait out the contracts and hope they resign with SM. I don't see why they would leave SM, Sign with another agency, and then leave the new agency to go back to the agency they choose to leave. Seohyun is a wild card as she has not signed with an agency yet though.

Aisya Alma Khaira I always thought that "niece" was so dumb. Because sunny was literally added last minute BECAUSE of her talent. She was originally apart of a different company as a duo, and her partner left the day before debut. I think they mentioned sunny joining SM after leaving her company like 7 hours before the snsd lineup was finalized.

I always thought Sunny was always just always on the border, she's a million times stronger of a singer than the dance line, but at the same time I wouldn't put her on the same level of power vocals that Jessica, Taeyeon, Seohyun, and Tiffany always provided but just always a solid singer that they could use as needed and never be disappointed

Because so many non-SNSD listeners visit your successful KZread site and take your word as gospel, I hope in any future reaction video you do of any more SNSD releases to come, you correctly acknowledge that SNSD8 still exists and that Oh!GG is just their newest subunit and not SNSD5. SM never dismissed Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun from SNSD and has allowed them to remain as SNSD although they are not managed by SM. Crazy, right? But that is the power of Soshi who continue to trail blaze their journey into the future as separately becoming seasoned solo entertainers who will return with a comeback together as SNSD not yet experienced.
