Not me jumping from this video to Goodreads after every other book you mention to add it to my tbr 🧚‍♀️ This recommendation video has one of the most intriguing themes and I love it (as well as your look, your earrings are amazing 💥). The Murders of Molly Southbourne sounds so interesting, definitely need to read that one as well as Hench.

Alice is so underrated! I've never seen anyone else talk about that book even with Christina Henry getting more attention with her newest release. I definitely want to re-read it soon, it's what got me into dark fantasy/horror fantasy which is now one of my favorite subgenres. I hope more people read it!

currently reading animal by lisa taddeo and maybe it is a personal preference that i rlly like the narration. interesting in a way that it implicates the complexity of the mc by having this internal monologue which seemed to transcend time as well as bouncing from being nonchalant to heavily concerned. i do have a hard time pinpointing what the mc really felt in various scenarios but i can assure you that joan is def unhinged.

i haven't read the elderly lady book, but based on your description of it i wonder if you've read a certain hunger by chelsea summers? very gaslightgatekeepgirlboss, about a woman who is a murderer and a food critic (and.. well... i suppose you can guess where both of those interests overlap) and i think it fits so well within the theme not only because of the smart murderer aspect, but also because the way she tells her story is so blasé and uncaring. there is more emotion put into the scenes of her cooking than those of her killing, and i thought it was really really good & interesting !!

Love this concept! I will be reading some of these for sure! I recommend you Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone, it is fun and light about a sociopath woman and her vengeance against a guy who make her friend to suicide.

I've tried to read Animal twice so far, and after the first chapter 2 in the audiobook I keep losing interest. But I really enjoyed Three Women, and I really want to give it a last shot

for a surreal book about traumatized women getting twisted into horrific shapes by men and capitalism, you should check out pig tales by marie darrieussecq, which was originally published in france. i think this was written in the 1990s so if nothing else it's an interesting look on how subversive white feminist novels were written then.
