Bro should've trusted the process. I hate people who say "beautiful on the inside" as if no quality is greater than beauty. Imagine saying "I know you're really garbage at this thing you're very passionate about but hey, you're talented on the outside and that's all that matters". It's okay to be ugly goddamn.

If someone is passionate about something they can't easily change, suggesting a shift in focus to an area where they already excel is a reasonable approach. This could lead them to stop wasting time on pursuing the unattainable and instead concentrate on enhancing their existing strengths. Moreover, the often underlying cause of their unhealthy obsession is rooted in insecurities and the need for acceptance, as you can LITERALLY SEE in the video. Advising them that improving their looks isn't the sole determinant of acceptance is like the most common and widely accepted way to address such a situation, guess why, because it's simply saying the truth and helping them with facing it.

Poor Keith. He's the only decent and normal person in the whole movie.

I always interpreted it as Stacey having to ultimately choose what's more important: Learn to like herself, warts and all, through her husband's love, or change herself in order to be part of, ostensibly, a clique. And she chooses the latter. Because it's always easier to change the outside than to take a good look at the inside.

@@shaninejackman9395 If you're referring to the U.S. there are plenty of free services to be found nowadays. It may not be everything you want or need but it's a start. Anything is better than leaving such things to get worse (as they inevitably will until they are addressed).

Oh that's actually smart. I've always felt like I didn't fully grasp the taxidermy metaphor. but it does connect because it's about preservation and about looks. She actually kills the animals she prepares, taking their life in order to preserve their seemingly perfect looks for a long time. It really truly is what she is doing to herself too.

People should make more movies like this. This is the world we find ourselves today
