Recorded May 20, 1984 at the Loading Chute in Temple, Texas, a tribute for the late Clyde Buchanan. This video features Blaze with Townes' "Blues Band" featuring Leland Waddell on drums, David Waddell on bass, Elliot Rogers on rhythm guitar, Janis Rogers on harmony, Don Ray on piano and Donny Silverman on sax. (Can anyone help me out on the name of the steel guitar player?) The video producer is Ed Hefflefinger for the Austin Pickers show. Thanks Ed!

That is my Dad….Paul Sanchez on stand-up bass. As a young boy, I spent many of nights at gigs with The Ramblers!!
What an incredible talent. I don’t know of any songwriter who, at almost 40 was still singing a song he wrote at 9 years old. Incredible.
Knew Blaze in Chicago before he changed his name. Was calling himself Michael Fuller in those days. Another songwriter named Mike Jordan, who has since passed on himself had a basement apartment right on Lake Michigan in Rogers Park. We sat in Mike's apartment and played 'Election Day' for about 2 straight hours. As a touring solo artist E.D. was always included in my sets...I loved the song. Glad to see Blaze getting his recognition even if it is posthumously. He was one of a kind.

He deserved it, just didn't get to live to see it. But thanks to all of you who love him
I remember meeting up with Blaze in Austin when we were editing the show just down from where he was staying. Bambi

A movie made about blaze..ok ethan hawke...blaze was a interesting guy...forsure.

Find a way to see the finale from last season's "Tales From the Tour Bus" (Showtime) focusing on Blaze. Not only the funniest episode, but the most touching also, with a good bit of commentary from Sybil Rosen. Some older footage with Leland Waddell made me laugh so hard that I hurt.
Sounds a bit like one of those metaphors used in the Richard and Linda Thompson song Hokey Pokey.
