Amala and ewdu are actually Yoruba cuisine. Not everyone in Nigeria eats it. I'm a Nigerian who grew up in the East during the nineties, and to this day I have never tasted amala or ewedu or seen the dish in person.

@@elomocaroltvthing is, almost every 36 and half states in 9ja have multiple indigenous ethnic groups with their many different cuisines. And even though it is a well known dish, a higher percentage of Nigerians haven't tried or even seen Amala/gbegiri/ewedu... As it is largely a regional delicacy of the southwest Nigeria, which happens to be dominantly Yoruba-. There are only a few generic Nigerian dishes(if any at all) that cut across all six geo-political zones of the country. Apart from the rice and yam dishes, I'd probably say maybe suya/kilishi, egusi and pepper soup would count as general Naija food.

@@elomocaroltv elomo Carol please it is not the way you think it is, pls if you have friends who have been to Nigeria of recent pls go and ask questions and see what they will tell you pls it is not about biafra or Nigerian, the genuine truth is that the country is not what it is at all exactly and it is not safe to visit talk more of to reside in because a lot dangerous evil things are happening in the country such that everyone is a suspect and come to think of it the level of insecurity in Nigeria is far too poor to the extent that every place and spot can serve as an avenue for any person to be severely harmed and kidnapped in terms of evil Nigeria is the very highest. Let me ask you one question what if when you travelled to Nigeria to do your job and kidnapped you and then demanded for a huge ransom and after that they will kill you and sell your body parts to big politicians and alahaji's that is the nature of business in Nigeria because Nigerians are very good at carrying illegal practices as a means of livelihood for survival, the country is so hostile, rude, arrogant and naturally inclined into greater levels of occultism and witchcraft and killing of humans is nothing to them coupled with all forms natural wickedness which is very much normal.
