This is what everyone used to love about the real. The funny, not too serious segments and when they dress up for halloween. That is what was missing from this last season of the real. They talk about real life serious issue, but their talk show last season I felt missed their personalities and silliness, which is what set them apart from other talk shows.

Exactly. I think there should be a balance, talking about serious topics is very important but people initially fell in love with the show partially because it was fun and was a form of escapism for us

Personally, I loved the switch to more serious topics. I understand that not everyone liked the change of tone. But for me, The show is called The real - so I expect them to be real about what’s going on in the world. I think the problem is the panelists weren’t used to doing that. Also, the producers weren’t used to making a show like that.

A B I’ve always thought that the name “The Real” wasn’t necessarily towards the topics but more towards who they are in being women of different backgrounds and race.
