From the very beggining you can appreciate how great the accompanist is! Such understanding of a piece, rather unknown for non-double bassists! Thank you both for this great and very enjoyable performance!

Perhaps 'cause No 1 its harder... at the conservatory u learn the first mov. but... one octave lower.. the version from Nanny its in 3/4...and its not a vals

1 is also weird because it’s more of two pieces combined. Bottesini would play the 1st movement as a stand alone piece and the 2nd and 3rd combined as a piece.

@@GeckoBass hi, check the Nanny's version there is only the first mov., i used to play it when i studied at the conservatory,.but after the time i discovered this one, octave higher version.. Maestro Bottesini used to play at the Opera's intermissions, i read it in Google, i will practice the whole First Concert, cheers, and thnx for the info.

The piece is meant to be played with a chamber orchestra and sounds even better than the piano can portray.
I hear hints of another bottesini piece in movement 2, I can’t figure it out tho.
