Well they did take a lot of inspiration from existing locations for their movies, the bathhouse from Spirited Away was based off the Dogo Onsen in Matsuyama

How beautiful! When I picture Japan in the wintertime, this location is exactly what I imagine. And it was lovely seeing the family as well.

John, you are by far one of my favorite YoutTubers, you look so happy reporting on things in Japan that many of us may never get the chance to experience ourselves, but it's great to see through your lens. Please keep up the great work, your content is by far some of the most entertaining as well as educational!

A dazzling winter wonderland captured perfectly by you, John!!! 🤩 It's not just a walking around the town video but one with depth - the appreciation of Ginzan Onsen History & Japan's Ryokan Culture! I loved my visit in Summer but the onsen town truly looks magical with snow. Defintely need another trip there. Enjoyed eating tofu by the river, curry bread at the end of the town & soba ice cream 🤤 And the highlight for me was a smiley Little Leo having his first covered toes Ashiyu 🤣
