Anime: Gintama
Synopsis
The Amanto, aliens from outer space, have invaded Earth and taken over feudal Japan. As a result, a prohibition on swords has been established, and the samurai of Japan are treated with disregard as a consequence.
However one man, Gintoki Sakata, still possesses the heart of the samurai, although from his love of sweets and work as a yorozuya, one might not expect it. Accompanying him in his jack-of-all-trades line of work are Shinpachi Shimura, a boy with glasses and a strong heart, Kagura with her umbrella and seemingly bottomless stomach, as well as Sadaharu, their oversized pet dog. Of course, these odd jobs are not always simple, as they frequently have run-ins with the police, ragtag rebels, and assassins, oftentimes leading to humorous but unfortunate consequences.
Who said life as an errand boy was easy?

@@SuiLover In case you haven't caught up yet, Gintama's coming back! Although, it's technically Ginpachi-sensei who's coming back. But the trailer already referenced Spy X Family and Jujutsu Kaisen..... So that wouldn't be impossible in the anime's run. 🤣

@@gamerarts8455 that's because he is, they make multiple references to it during the show too, along with some of his other famous roles, he also did one that is based on actual Japanese history, but with multiple alterations, where he rides his horse like a Chopper
He's unbeatable in a real fight but absolutely useless everywhere else 🤣

i know right?? most people drop it because of its slow start and the lack of action esp in the first 50 episodes :^( but it's really worth the wait for and the comedy is 👌👌👌

It's such a shame this show had to end, it's far and away my favorite piece of media ever. Most anime aren't really funny and have hacky comedy moments but when Gintama's trying to be funny i fuckin die laughing

If you don't have prior knowledge of gintama, I don't think some of the scenes work well since you won't know why some of them are funny and think they're just being random.
