⭐️GINA CURL Curly Perm on Natural Hair⭐️
I got a GinaCurl chemical curl reformation and recorded my whole salon day experience and Gina Curl process. Watch to see the before and after results of this curly perm reformation on long 4b/4c natural African American hair.
P.S. I’m team perm, team natural, team anything you want to do with your hair because it's only hair 😊 This video isn't meant to encourage anyone to change their natural hair, it's meant to provide education to people who were looking into getting this and wanted to know more about the process. I've been doing curls on my clients for over 30 years, and most of them are women in their 50s through 80s who maintain the style since the 1980's and 1990's. Make no mistake...once you get a curl, you don't have natural hair anymore. Gina curl, like all other brands of jheri curl, is a chemical process identical to getting a relaxer which requires a chemical curl activator product for proper maintenance because it's the only thing that can penetrate your shaft after that. Understand a Gina Curl and all other jheri curl changes the molecular structure by deconstructing the protein bonds of your hair and reconstructing them around the shape of whichever size rod your stylist uses. Understand that oils no longer penetrate your hair, and without using an activator, your hair will eventually break off due to extreme dehydration at the core of your hair strands, and at the fragile part of your hair where your new growth and the chemically processed curl meet. I'm not saying getting a curl is wrong, but don't let these undereducated "influencers" and money-hungry stylists who fail to educate you make you make a decision about your hair that you are not fully informed about. There's a reason this chemical process fell out of fashion. If this hair is not wet 24/7 with activator, your hair falls apart and no amount of Curly Girl Method can save it.

Leave that lady alone. Unless you know that she is unqualified or something else then get talking. To clarify, I am black too and I am not saying black isn’t professional. Something that’s been around for decades that this woman slapped her name on and is passing off as her own innovation. Would be the same thing as me, a black woman opening up a restaurant with a mainly Chinese customer base and charging them $200 for an overpriced version of some normally inexpensive authentic Chinese dish that I’m claiming to have invented myself. That’s so wrong.

    @@annamaebullock5 What wrong about a black woman opening an expensive Chinese spot? And to begin with a jerry curl has nothing to to with the natural texture of black hair. The first use a perm (like the do on white, brown, and black people) and set up curling rods. It’s not rocket science! And if shes charging so much she probably has the degree to back it (cosmology school). Her race doesn’t lower her ability. Please change that mentality. Just because you’re born with kinky hair doesn’t mean someone with a straighter texture can’t learn or execute the same or better results. It’s the same thing with language, yes there are native people but you can also learn no matter race! Is it racist for me a black woman to know the language English because it was create by the Anglo-Saxons in early England (not my best example because Ik the diaspora and all that jazz). End of the story I don’t care who you are and what you do. Do what makes you happy. Be black and have an expensive Chinese spot. Be white doing jerry curls (which are not just for black people). We have one life! Just because someone was born looking different then the norm of their profession doesn’t mean their less worthy! Isn’t this the same shit we fought for? Treat others how you want to be treated, not by their race. She did a good job and that’s all that matters.

But there are more treatments like olaplex, you just have to find them and the research behind it. These are Jheri Curls... you have to wait till it grows out before doing another process that's not a jheri curl. Old school hair dresses know how to do them. You just have to keep up your new growth so that there is no breakage. My aunt did them for years I remember ppl lined up in her shop waiting for these.. I cannot believe the woman charges that much. That's not true. Please don't spread misinformation about the Gina Curl. It is NOT a Jheri Curl and Gina does have processes that you can do even after getting a Gina Curl. You can still dye your hair after getting a Gina Curl after the first two weeks. You don't need any activator or creams to maintain the curls either, they stay that way. All women who have gotten the Gina Curl (they're on youtube so you can easily verify this) have reported no breakage even after 5-6 months of new growth and Gina has clients that have been getting this process for years and will still say the same thing.

  • @TanyaScorpio

    @TanyaScorpio

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@thisisayoutube3811 you could color with jheri curl you just have to be careful. The only reason for using the activator was it keep the curl hydrated and not dry. But the application from what I've seen is the same process. Do not get me wrong I'm not disapproving at all with ppl who get them. I'm just talking about the process.. also, the reason ppl got retouching was to keep the roots the same texture as the curl that was already processed. I think it's cute... hair styles and processes repeat themselves. I do think it's a shame she's charging that much but she's coined the market is about business in the end.

    This is a jheri curl/wave nuvue . I had got this done a day before my birthday. I loved it, it was sooooo beautiful! Only down fall is after sometime my hair started breaking off so bad! It started looking like i was walking around with the Joe Dirt hair cut. I finally cut it all off again and went natural from scratch. Some years later my roommate who had thick beautiful long natural hair went to get a curl done because she felt like it was more manageable. I warned her about what happened to me, but it is her hair and we are all free to do what we want with it. Same thing happened to her, it was super cute the 1st month or so then it started breaking her hair off extremely bad. That was probably the most damaged her hair had ever been. She finally big chopped and started all over and her hair is beautiful . Make sure you keep up with this style as best as possible to prevent what me & my roommate had went through & i wish you the best of luck! Side note, this lady way overcharged. This is literally like a $100 hairstyle or less, honestly.

    I love when black women embrace their natural hair, and I hope that tighter textures can become more "culturally acceptable" and represented, especially for the next generation. However, at the end of the day, it's her hair and she can do whatever she wants. Based on her recent video, this was done for manageability, not to conform to societal standards, so I can appreciate that part :) but I do want to add that I don't think type 4 hair is anymore difficult to manage then type 3 bc imo that depends on density, thickness, length, etc. Just saying that for anyone who was considering perming their hair in this way as well. All curls need love

    It is culturally acceptable. Let's be honest, the reason most black women change their hair or wear wigs or only wear protective styles is because they either simply just prefer it or because of time and the stress it takes to take care of natural kinky hair. Even in Sub saharan Africa where 99% of people are black, many black women still use relaxers, wear wigs and all this other stuff. People like to pretend a lot. But in all honesty, if you were to take a survey of the exact reason why each black woman changed her hair or doesn't wear her natural hair, cultural accebtibility would not be the reason why. How many black women do you know who don't have a job because they have natural hair.

    The before and after...wow...what a difference. I think the end result is very pretty. The price tag was too high...but, you look great and seem happy.👏❤

    FYI: I've always been advised by my hairstylist not to wash my hair for 72 hours after having a perm, but you can rinse it and use a salon-recommended styling product for permed hair.

    If there are comments where people don’t like something or they do it’s their own opinion and should not affect her she loves her hair so that’s all that matters what one chooses to do with their hair is their business if you can agree to that then you can agree that if someone likes it or not and chooses to say something about it is there choice I’m here for all comments as long as they’re not bashing her and saying things like what she did was stupid ect... but as for people choosing not to like her hair that’s there opinion and it should not mess up your day my opinion she likes it I love it I just wouldn’t do it but kudas to her we’re helping her out with all these comments so sis winning

    Not everyone is a people pleaser it's good to feel confident to express a different opinion. And it's not healthy to want people to tell you only what you like or want to hear. It's controlling

    @@dearbrave4183 it’s annoying when people dick ride.I mean you can genuinely like her hair and say that, but to “get on” to everyone else who don’t feel the same way, is a problem. Some of these commenters need to do some self reflecting. Taking the situation too personal, giving me low self esteem vibes, but hey it what it is. I said my piece.

    I like this for my hair. My hair gets tangled natural but it helps. It's like japanese hair straightening but with curls. I love your results and it has inspired me to look into it.

    Wow! That's beautiful. I never liked the way my hair looked after a relaxer. It would just look dry, but your curly perm is awesome. Your hair does not look dry and looked straighter when she rinsed it out then most relaxers I've seen. Good job. I personally don't have the patience for chemicals because I would have to keep getting it done but hey, I like your results.
