This was a Traditional format duel. Everything banned in Advanced is at 1 in Traditional.

@@wickederebus I wouldn't say it means nothing. I think limiting the good Danger monsters, Draconic Diagram and Card of Demise made a big difference to Traditional format, as it hits True Draco and Danger! FTK, two of their best decks. Striker is also good in Traditional format, but Engage to 1 hurts it. To answer the question, my understanding is that historically Final Countdown went to 1 because of Tag Duels, so in the past at least they took fringe formats into account with the banlist. I'm not so sure if they do now though (if they did I would think they'd hit Ancient Leaf, again for Tag Duels).

The 40 secund i ntro seems kinda long for a 5 minute video imo

If only he wasn't so generic...and easy to summon...and available to vomit into the field... To be fair, he would need either some stupid restrictions or some crippling disadvantage to justify unbanning it when most good decks can just vomit stuff like him by merely existing, and would become even more of a solid solitaire deck if allowed a second normal.

@@KuroeNezumi Negate the normal summon's effect and you lose a lot of utility, but not all of it. I think that would be the best possible errata if you don't want to impose a "you cannot special summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Knightmare monsters" on the card.

I'd prefer if it was "negate the effects of all cards with that name you control or in grave until the next turn after this card leaves the field", so you can't do stuff like link it away to take advantage of grave effects even if it's effects on field are negated. You're most likely setting up grave with the discard, and might not even go -1 if you manage to colink him, so just negating the effect on the summoned monster feels like a half measure with how much stuff good decks have that floats. Sure, normal summon effects usually are stronger...but again, the point is trying to stop high level degeneracy to come back with him, not to just limit the card.

Well, Pot of Greed didn't do anything for this combo.... So it obviously means it should put back to 3!

Deck appears to be consistent enough with out, and has WAY more cards it wants in hand rather than GY. It also appears to have been a singles tournament? This looks like how you would build for singles - which isn't bad. Side to prioritize field cleaning if you know you're going second, and more consistency/hand destruction if going first. Then again, this is traditional, if you're going second, let your opponent play their first turn, scoop it up, and hope your side deck can handle game 3.
