@@titan8770 Gilbert arenas (in an era that was 'more physical' and defense-focused) had a defensive rating of 109. The lower the number, the better. Nikola Jokic, on the other hand, has a defensive rating of 107. Giannis has a 105. Dirk had a 104. Manu had a 100. Arvydas Sabonis had a 97. What the hell is Arenas talking about?

Gilbert is mad the 2 best basketball players in the world are "European" and the idea that the league isn't just as tough now is laughable. Look at Jokers arms at the end of games, more often than not there's blood on them, same can be said about Curry. The fact that people are shooting more 3's is wait for it, proven style to win championships aka Golden State Warriors. The only dinosaur here is the one in Gilbert's mind.

The problem came in when the fouls called in this era, were not called in the 90's nor the Dream and Shaq era. Now fouls are called constantly. Even though (Jordan) sorta had something to do with fouls called driving through the lane,because he constantly complained to the refs about being fouled. Kobe got many calls because his style like Jordan was driving to the basket. Now these stupid technical fouls really damaged the league, can't celebrate nor show any type of aggression after making a basket nor say anything to the refs is ridiculous. I agee with Gilbert the league has taken away aggression and defense, and that is as a majority is european style basketball. So he's onto something that's not being spoken and he spoke about it.

He’s talking about white, white Europeans. There is maybe 1 European starter in half of teams why the Americans are not defending. He doesn’t know European Basketball at all.

@@ItIsDesss Arenas was overrated. He was productive offensively but horrible on the defensive end, he was a ballhog and not a good passer, even A.I. who was a huge scorer has a better career assist ratio than Gil.

Calling a guy who averaged 20,4,5 “overrated” while averaging the same assists per game as Jordan while playing in a “physical era.” Take your personal hate for him as a man and remove it from your basketball “analysis.” Being a great offensive player and a bad defender is common. Most players sacrifice one side for the other.. I.E., Steph, Steve Nash, Dame, AI, Luka, Kyrie, Jokic, Trae Young, Ja Morant… (I can literally keep going) lmaoooo

Which is why they play more defensively in Europe right? The Euro players are killing it because the NBA is softer than Europe. The league got softer when they started calling everything for Wade and Lebron and then opened the door for Curry and the Warriors to turn it into a shooting fest.

The WARRIORS made the nba a 3 pts league !!! With that style of basketball shooting 3s spacing the floor small ball to prevent big men to defend the paint. No the threes weren't dropping consistently until they started playing defense. You just don't know basketball marc Jackson and Steve kerr are some of the best defensive minded coaches in history it aint got nothing to do with the three. Euros were expected to be great in the 90s and never panned out its facts. 6 great euros out of 1000 aint great 😂😂😂😂
