@@MrClubdjaznot in the way you thinking , a “bag” usually meaning dribble moves…Kobe foot work , basketball iq, back to the basket game, quickness, etc is what he is known for. Melo played bully ball , back to the basket , mid range, etc, and tmac out of all three I would say is the closest to elite dribbling skill, but once again, he is known for his all around skill set to get open shots, quickness, length, and etc. non of those guys were known to be dribbling phenomenons and crafty with the ball.

It’s Kobe, I witnessed Kobe score every possible way, his finishing abilities was elite, his mid range from posting up to shooting off the dribble was elite, his 3 was good but when he was on which was often his 3 was elite. Kobe can post finish and shoot plus the shot making watch his 60 point game vs NY best offensive display ever

Kys bag is crazy. Post ups, triple threat, floaters, left hand, right hand. Mid range, 3 point, deep range, and the dopest part is he can do it in no dribbles, 3 dribbles or less, and unlimited. Which is a testament to his footwork and pace with the ball.

The bag I use to love was Andrew Toney and Tim Hardaway. People don't know it, but Earvin "Magic" Johnson stole one of Toney's moves, it was the fake crossover move driving to the cup, Toney created that move. So what I did, because I couldn't totally duplicate Hardaway's crossover move, I added my own twist to it. Hardaway's move consisted of taking the ball through his legs from the front on the herky jerk move. I tried it but couldn't perfect that move, however, I could go through my legs dribbling from the rear, so what I would do is do the Toney fake crossover, and dribble through my legs, fake left and come back quickly to the right, and if you didn't go for the fake I would dart past the defender going left. This was great pure basketball talk.

KY and before him it was Kobe. I’ll die saying for a guard to add a big man Skillset will always put them over any player. Guards aren’t supposed to have post work, post up etc in the paint they’re trained to slash float pass or cut. MJ started that shit Kobe carried it and now KY got it. Idc what anybody says KY has all 5 levels of scoring in his bag plus that shit you do In video games.

This. Carmelo was technically a small-forward, but he played more like a shooting guard. He had to have a high skillset which includes posting up and bully ball. Charles Barkley is another at only 6'5" playing small-forward and he'd post you up and out rebound centers. Besides Kyrie, MJ, and Kobe, Carmelo (although a small-forward) had all 5 levels of scoring. Kyrie is the most impressive because he's only 6'1" to 6'2".

I think Kobe, Kyrie, Jordan, and Durant. I think they not only had a lot of moves, but they had a lot of counters to those moves. Those are the guys where you’re just never going to be able to really figure out on defense because you never know what they’re going to do next.

Jordan, really lol? He didn't have a deep bag per say, he was just much more athletic and quicker than any guard without a zone defense and with several teams flooding the league in expansion and diluting the talent pool in that area. He had unstoppable tools, but not the biggest bag.

Spot up, step back, fadeaway, pump fake then shoot, one dribble pull up, bank shot, floater, reverse layup, etc. He had everything for any situation that was thrown at him. Then on top of that, a multitude of counters to go along with them. I think it just depends on your definition of a bag.

I always thought “having a bag” meant multiple ways of putting the ball in the bucket. Not just handles. Hakeem, Jordan , Larry, Kobe ,Tmac Kd quickly come to mind. Kyrie too, but he dont just have a handle, he got so many moves, and he can pull up anywhere , coming left or right, same with layups, 3s, middy. I wish we had more of that today. Now its just all numbers. These guys made the game amazing to watch. Now its just 3s. Shits wack af.

It’s everything. Handles, post moves, passing ability, shooting, athleticism… all the different ways you have to put the ball in the hoop. People just talk about handles the most because you can do so many different things when handling the ball. In today’s game Kyrie probably has the deepest bag but I don’t think we talk about Jokic enough when you combine all the different ways he can pass and his post moves. Jokic’s bag is definitely deep.

In fact, Steph has consistently had as much or more attempts in the restricted area as well as higher fg% on his finishes in those areas too compared to kyrie. It’s hard to judge a bag from the 90s and earlier since the refs didn’t let them carry, travel, or ‘zero step’ gather while allowing defenses to hand check. It’s so easy scoring one on one these days. I’m in my mid 40s and it’s so much easier to score. I can basically score at will against hoopers half my age. So, ranking bags has to be done with some context.

Facts, I'm 44, and was cooking kids in NYC in the summer (and half the speed I had at 30), playing with these new rules is a joke for 90's teens. Step back, gather step b.s is unfair...and you know we all got that fade away from MJ so posting them up all day is BBQ chicken with extra sauce.

Tatum in todays game has a goddamn deep bag, can score in all ways and get past his defender in a multitude of ways. Additionally, he's a great defender and is developing his playmaking every year. If he could only improve his consistency a little bit, he would be a certified top20 legend in the making.
