Спорт

Gil's Arena Breaks Down The Boston Celtics & Dallas Mavericks Game 5 Wins as Gilbert Arenas & The GIl's Arena Crew react to Jaylen Brown & Derrick White putting away the Miami Heat to advance in the NBA Playoffs and react to Jayson Tatum's comments on the team's toughness as they strive for an NBA Championship. They also dissect the Miami Heat's disappointing playoff run, debating what the team needs to do to keep Jimmy Butler in Miami and get the team back into the top of the NBA's Eastern Conference. Next, they address their WRONG Predictions for Game 5 of the Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers and break down Luka's best game of the playoffs so far, before discussing what went wrong for James Harden, Russell Westbrook & The rest of the Clippers' squad. Finally, they preview perhaps the most exciting matchup of the NBA Playoffs kicking off this weekend between the Minnesota Timberwolves & Denver Nuggets, debating who will take a bigger leap towards NBA Superstardom with a win in this series, Anthony Edwards or Nikola Jokic. This is one thing I’ve never heard anyone bring up about Kobe and LeBron. LeBron grew up playing organized team basketball with the same core group of guys from AAU through high school. Kobe on the other hand, growing up in Italy & always traveling w his father, grew up as a loner . He didn’t fit in as a black kid in Italy and when he came back to the states he knew nothing about American teenage culture. I think this is a great reflection of their games. LeBron: the ultimate team player and Kobe just an absolute individual killer.

What the media did was to start to entertain the discussion that fans in barbershops and on blacktops everywhere had started after LeBron got ring #3 and that discussion was can LB possibly be the greatest and what does he need to do to become the greatest and dethrone MJ🤔now back when Magic and Bird played there was a lot of greats but no one player generally and unanimously was considered the greatest among fans and players alike you just had greats so there was no need to talk about other players negatives because there wasn't an argument it was just MJ and then everybody else now fast forward 20 years and after no real spirited possible arguments other than Bill Russell here comes LeBron to the chat via the fans and sports media and now the conversation is everywhere and if your riding with Bron you have to first prove that Bron is better than everybody else to even be considered close to MJ's level which now means you have to compare Brons career stats to the rest of the NBA greats career stats to show that LB deserves to be in the #2 spot which is going to seem, to some, like hating on other players to make LB look better but it's not it's just the nature of the discussion a discussion which wasn't had before Lebron so no it's not putting other great players down to make Bron look better it's just answering questions the main being what even makes Bron better than everybody from #3 on down???maybe a MJ fan should answer that so it won't look like a diss to the other greats🤔😕✌🏾

On the Barkley thing. All Charles was saying is it's not all on the coaches (Vogel/Ham) who are about to get fired. He said it's the people who put the team together (which is the GM). When a team perform under expectations; everyone is looked at. If the panel disagree with Charles, that's fine, but then the discussion went straight to Charle's playing days.

At some point, you have to stretch your bench out if you aren’t getting enough from certain players, and Ham refused to rely on others when D-Lo, and Reaves, struggled. Charles’ opinions can’t be taken seriously because he has a vendetta against the Lakers, and certain players like KD, and even Bron. Even when the Lakers were good, like in 2020, he was rooting for their failure. And in Vogel’s case, even Shad said they didn’t have a system in place, and that was on top of their big three not all playing together extensively in the regular season due to injuries, but the signal callers deserve blame, especially in Ham’s case. Get someone else in the game when your role players are struggling.

Yo Gil o know you was busy playing so maybe you dindt catch it but to your point about Charles Barkley there used to be a show called Open Court where some of the legends of the 80 and 90s would sit around and talk about hoops and their careers. Ernie is the host and on some episodes you can see Charles owning up to his mistakes especially the series against Jordan, it a great watch since the players felt comfortable talking to each other even guys they faced in the past. There is no other person in media that understands the feelings of not having a ring or the feeling of underachieving like Charles wich why IMO he is so though on this generation, Michael Jordan and Hakeem both stopped Charles from getting a ring and they where from the same class as him.

@@SageStill my original point was that going off Rashad's definition, Jokic wouldn't be considered as having killer instinct because he's chill, despite the fact he dismantles every team he plays against. Jokic, alongside every main guy in the NBA, has killer instinct. People just want everyone to be like Kobe. Even MJ wasn't like Kobe lol.
