I think.......the reason for removing the cmos battery is that ,,,when the motherboard is in off state them motherboard is getting 3.3v for keeping date/time updated... so when removing bios ,, the supply needs to be cut-off. Sirji.. pls confirm my answer,

Sometimes like in case mobs based on P35 chipset for Sandy bridge this battery is necessery to initiate clock generator, PCH and KBC to deliver 3v3 on power switch, so without it even will not work ...

Sir mara pas ak motherboard aya ha jiska bhot rare issue aya ha, sir is motherboard ma harbar CMOS reset karna padta ha boot lana kaliya ak bar boot lala ta ha phir agar restart ya shutdown kardu to phir next time shirf fan ghumta ha oar display nahi ata.

@@immiinfo mara board purana ha usma mana debug laga ka dekha all voltage available ha or debug code 25 25 dekharaha ha or jab diplay ataha tab 26 26 dekha ta ha debug card. TG33MK HP. Full HP Dx2480 MT(WE576PA).
