Mary, I was so glad to see this. I bought the exact same guitar (a Fender Stratocaster Player Plus HSS with Belair Blue finish) about a month ago and totally love it. The reason I became interested in it was because I saw your video that reviewed it and I loved it. I did not know from your video that you'd actually acquired this instrument for yourself and had taken it with you to Spain and elsewhere. I thought maybe Fender supplied you one and asked for a video review. I'm glad you liked having it, and I enjoyed your generous surprise of leaving it in a good home. I've never had a Strat. My only other electric guitar is a 1967 Gibson ES-335, in great condition (but needs work), which I've owned since 1969. (Yes, I'm an old guy.) I thought about this for a long time, read and watched other reviews and particularly read the specs on Fender's website, which impressed me (particularly the unusual pickup combination), then decided I'd like to buy one. I play it an hour or two every day. So thanks from one of your regular viewers for this kind gesture in giving away and for being the first to introduce me to it.

Loved the video. Rhett reminded me of my trip the a maple syrup farm/restaurant in Canada. In the restaurant in which they only spoke French and I only speak English, via my cousin who translated, I asked for the most traditional dish that they would eat at home. Unfortunately that was a pork dish and my brother and I are intolerant to pork. After explaining this the French chef came out and told us, because we had shown such interest in his culture and just for us, he would cook the dish with beef which was also traditional but not on the menu. It was, of course, cooked with fresh maple syrup. For a sweet we had traditional maple syrup/apple pie. Both dishes were wonderful but the chef and staff were extremely amused that I added extra maple syrup to both dishes so much so that I was presented with a bottle of their maple syrup when we left.

I remember my first visit to the states working back in 99 and will never forget driving the cars back then, in a country where a roundabout was something at a fun fair and few twisty roads the suspension was so soft they were so comfortable but drove like a mattress and no 'stick shifters'. My first foray into an American diner was also quite a shock, the size of the meal would have kept me fed for days.

I’ve seen that same Strat at my local store for several weeks. Even yesterday to check up on one of my pedals for repair!

Talk about range, this episode has it all. It's like a car episode, Publisher's Clearing House, and Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown all wrapped up into one! lol
