Very pretty! I hadn't thought of doing a decorative edge, but that is what I will be doing next time I make my gift bags:) Thank you for this terrific idea!

I really like the idea of the decorative edge, as well! And here's yet another idea/spin-off of this project... even while using those exact same holes that were punched at the top to secure the ribbon bow... well, that ribbon could be cut in half to make carry handles instead... and by using those same holes to thread the ribbon through, for the handle placement... and then just simply knotting/tieing off the ribbon on the inside of the bag... (for just one of *many* fun & easy options that can possibly/potentially be made using this project idea/punch board... the possibilities are almost endless, as I've seen so many great ideas suggested or demonstrated/explained already... and can still think of so many more that I'd also love to try out, as well!!) And also... perhaps taking this just another step further, once again: ...I'd think that making longer gift bags for wine could even be doable too... (I'd imagine if the measurements/scoring were slightly adjusted to allow for a bit more depth... to accommodate the extra bulk of a wine bottle!)... but then, in *_that_* case, you'd certainly *_better_* be really sure to use a super-strong adhesive when putting it together!! ...(lest "splattered/shattered floor wine", otherwise!!! Nope, wouldn't want *that* at all!!!)... lol ;)

I would like to know what kind of paper to use: weight, coated/not coated? Also, is the paper only available from WRMK? All of the papers I've been using crack at the scoring when I make the folds.

Hi Teri! So sorry for the late reply. We recommend using 60 lb cardstock or heavier. Patterned scrapbook paper works well too. Copy weight paper will likely tear. Also, using less pressure will help with cracks and tears.

Thanks. Also, not sure if anyone mentioned it, but it's pronounced gro-grain. The S is silent.

Hi! The large size paper that fits in this punch board is 12 inches, so it can't make wider bags. You can vary the height of the bags with this board. You can make larger gift bags with the Template Studio.

I have ruined so many papers. Even though I follow your instructions, I cannot have a decent bag. So confusing for me.
