I created some animated gif display ads like this but used high quality photos as part of the design. They ads all look great in Canva, but horribly grainy (to the point I'm not comfortable launching the ads) after I download in gif format. Any tips are keeping images crisp in gif format?

  • @UBMD

@@tapirhorse1871 the stress is real my friend. I can't begin to tell how how many times this has happened to me. When creating any type of gif, it is always followed by lower resolution. This file type needs to be compressed down in order for it to be lightweight and easy to load. I would try looking into a Canva Pro account as it allows you to download at a better resolution. If that does not work you could always make a larger size gif and try compressing it down with a third party site. Not sure if that helped you at all but if you need additional support just let me know. Thank you! Richard

👋🏽Hi Simran World! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my tutorial, and also way to go! Not many people take the time to put in the work so keep it up. Unfortunately I didn't make these files available and I actually deleted them as I needed space on my laptop. With that said, I'll make the Canva project a template and share it with you. Just shoot me an email at caicedodesign@live.com and I'll email you back with the link. I hope that helps you out. Again thank you so much for your time and support, and come back with any questions you might have. Thank you! Richard.

Hi, So google ads only supports gifs for animated ads? I usually animate videos in after effects for social media but I've recently been asked to adapt some animations to various formats of google ads, 150k and 5fps I assume the animations will be very limited with this restrictions? Thanks.

Hello Shehan, and thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch my video! This is actually the first time I’ve ever see that error come up. I’m not 100% sure what your ad looks like or how its animated, but if there is anything flashing that might be the reason. Google ads is very strict with their guild lines so make sure you look at their upload specifications. If you still can’t resolve the issue I would just contact your google ads representative and ask for more details. Sorry if that was not much help but this issue is new to me. Let me know how it works out as I would like to know what fixed the issue. Thank you again for the support and your time Shehan! Richard.

When you finish up your project make sure to add the animation in. I’ve made gifs before and simply forgot to add the animation in. The result was a static gif. See if that works but if not I’ll be more than happy to help you out. If anything shoot me an email at caicedodesign@live.com Thank you for your time! Richard.

👋 Hello Ivana! I ask myself this exact question whenever I do digital ads at work. The struggle is very real, and also the frustration that comes with it. What I do to reduce the size of my gifs are down below. It’s really just two options. Try running the gif through a compression site. I like this one used in this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWpkpsafYcS6Yag.html. I would also try to reduce the quality and size of the images used in your project. If you have high resolution images in your project that will increase your overall file size. I hope these options help you out. I’m sorry you’re running into issues. The world of gifs is not always fun. Thank you for your time and support Ivana! Richard.

Hi. how to save gif file less than 150kb for google ads

  • @UBMD

Hello Mohamed, unfortunately Canva does not provide really small gif files. You would have to use a third party gif or compressor. Just google gif compressor and you will be provided with many options. I do want to point out that I believe google ads does not accept gif files any more. This video might be out of date with their new accepted files. I apologize if this video wasted your time or if you found no value in this video. Checkout google ads for information of their accepted files. Thank you! Richard
