I've been playing that bass with Labella flats for a year now. Man, it's a whole new world. You name it... Motown, blues, good old rock n roll, jazz standarts. It gives a real vintage vibe to that kind of music.

What gauge Labella flats do you use?
It's not a bass meant for "slapping". However, if you're looking for the deepest tones imaginable from a four string bass, then this is the one you need. It's absolutely amazing and a pleasure to play!
This bass is a beast. I love it! Real rockin' bass. I love this bass for hard rock and blues rock
Why did he have to do an SG review? I have never liked these basses until this video. Now I'm tempted. Uuuggghhh

@@Jmsul257Good for beginners? Better than most.
The best bass I have So fun to play, sounds very particular Totally rock with fuzz 😉
Nice playing and demo. Love that bridge pickup. Yes, I had about 4 EB3’s as well as multiple Fenders, Stingrays, Sterlings and an Ibanez ATK which was like an EB3 and stayed in tune abit more. Now, I have a burgundy Warwick Jack Bruce Survivor bass which is huge. Would consider getting this SG bass just to play Sweet Wine from Live Cream. What this bass allows you to do is bend strings. Bend to the ‘’blue note”, bend to the octave from the 7th pushing against the fret, like Jack Bruce did in West, Bruce & Laing and Live Cream. Very nice for power trio jamming.
My first bass was a 1966 Gibson EB-O in 1976. Still have the bass but dont play out with it anymore.Great for Classic Rock and blues with its big Mudbucker at the neck position is supper low and just love it.
I played one of these today, in my local guitar shop. It was sensationally good. Don’t be put off by the various ‘copy’ versions; go for the real thing and you’ll probably be very impressed.
Beautiful bass.
Jack Bruce. Sums it up pretty well
Excellent 👍
great Bass
Hi great video, which amplifier is it connected to?
I picked up the 120th anniversary version of this at a pawn shop for $150. I play it all the time. It’s such a fun punky bass. Also I got it for a super sweet deal haha

$150? I'd say you got a deal!
I like it because it different everyone has a Fender or Rick.
I got a 2018 gibby in walnut with flats a got it tuned down and it's a very dark monsterest sound though fuzz it's very scary sounding lol

The real EB3 is much more of a power bass.
I want one of these but everything I see says a bridge upgrade is needed. Is it worth the now $2000 price point only to have to upgrade or buy the $450 epiphone alternative?
Wow this video is making me consider getting it . However does anyone find it weird it's a short scale ?

Short scales are so much nicer to play why is that weird?

You can always replace the tuners with Hipshot Ultralites. Makes a difference and they're built well.

Not even close. The EB3 MBer threw our out 30K...3X as much power as the SG pup.

True, these modern sg basses look like an eb-3, but have what are essentially thunderbird pickups...still a decent instrument though if you can find a good deal on a used one
Anthony Pecora, what you are experiencing when you say you "see the note" is not stupidity, it's called "synesthesia" and a very small percentage of humans experience this. I am also one of those. Look deeper into it and you'll appreciate what a gift it is. Peace!

I have both. I prefer my Gibson because it feels more comfortable. I play 50s 60s rock and some 50s to 70s country for the most part. The Mustang sounds good for that music too but the Gibson fits me better. Hope that helps. 🎶

@@twoofakinda Me too! Love to have one. They are about the same price used as a new SG. The EBO will also throw out the low end...but that's about all it does, LOL.
My first bass was a lawsuit era SG copy. I got rid of it within a year. I found it too soft and too much lacking in attitude. Been a Fender guy ever since and never looked back...
A short scale bass looks like it was made for a midget. 👶
Careful, there's shit on the wall, behind you.
