I swear Captain Lee's playing is getting tastier and tastier every video.

LOL!!!!
That was the best Jam I've seen you do. Really defined picking and quality. Lee's playing was especially excellent.
Man! He's one of the most subtle and tasteful guitar players ever!
Some lovely playing from both. Rob's piece around 7:44 and Lee's bluesy-ness all through.. great stuff.
WOW!Captain your chops are immense dude!Nice and inspired guitar playing....
These are great playing & sounding little guitars. You are spot on as a late night sofa guitar. Great for just sitting around & creating ideas.
Awesome playing from The Captain!
Excellent jam. You guys have outdone yourselves once again. Right up there with the part 5 of the gibson les paul 2014 !
Great video guys, love to see you guys playing acoustics, looking forward to more in the future.
More Acoustic. Much more Acoustic! I dig the other stuff too, but this one is by far the best sounding one you've done to date.
I enjoy yalls reviews alot. I guess alot of people ask yall to do acoustic stuff and you really should do alot more. This was great! More acoustics please capin
Lee, you show 'em why your the boss. good video guys, never stop making them
Love the acoustic videos, thanks for doing this! Great sounding guitars too.
If i had one of those guitars the first protest song i would write would be about the stupid price of them.

+C.J. Friel that's the same problem I have with them. If you're dropping that much money why not get a Martin or Taylor instead? Every Martin or Taylor I've played was much better than the Gibsons. The Gibsons lacked a type of feel the others had

+SteveOTheMan16 I'm actually having an L -00 type acoustic built by a luthier, same price, except I get to customize it and specify everything about its construction. Seems much more worthwhile than spending that much money on the Gibson

Woke up knowing I'm facing a TERRIBLE day at work. This vid gave me the best possible start to the day :-) Loving the acoustic - keep it up Cap'n!
Hey great job playing Rob ! Always love listening to your playing , you play with a lot of soul bro.
awesome jam, bursting with bluesy goodness.
Great sounding guitars and playing!
Best blues jam you guys have done.
I love the look of those pre-dreadnaught guitars. The tone is surprisingly awesome. Balanced defined tone.

Actually, the L-00 was created AFTER Martin created the first dreadnought.
I was curious about this particular model, and came across your video. Just superb jamming, and a guitar to add to the wish list! I love all guitars, but there is just something so iconic about the acoustic look and sound. Liked and subscribed 🎵🔥🎸
Awesome bluesy/jazzy jam !
Lee .Leaps and bounds man leaps and bounds such improvement in 2015 great sound
Definitely would like to see more of these acoustic videos - different makes, body styles and maybe some blending (Rob playing a regular acoustic and The Captain banging away on a Nashville high strung acoustic.)
Oh my lord, that was so awsome guys! I mean the guitars looks cool, and sounds really good trough those micropones, but the 'soul' thing that Rob is talking about makes me feel so blue(s) :D I like the things you do whith those electric guitars, and I see the most of the players here are electric guys, that's ok, but that jam session was mind-blowing in so much ways, and had so much feel in it. After this, I really would like to see an acoustic review or jam somethimes. Keep up the good work guys, I just became from a subscriber to a fan. Cheers
Coool!! Chappers and Captain unplugged! :-) - Great
Yes we did love the acoustic demo, and the little history stuff everyone should know. You guys help make guitars the wonderful instruments they are. And I'm scrolling the Andertons website right after this. Cheers!

@ 8 minutes - 8:36 - that was beautiful Rob
Dude, man, your fingerpicking is really nice, Lee!
Rob and the captain are my favourite youtubers
captain has great knowledge I love experts I really want one of those guitars
Gonna get me one of these lovely Gibson’s one day.

+Maxime Tessier They're more like advertisements. They review the guitars that are new to the market, or guitars that aren't quite known so people buy them more. But the stuff that they sell a lot isn't reviewed all that much anymore. That's why they never had a review of a Marshall JTM, JMP, or the super lead. Those are top sellers.
Can you do a Gibson 2016 lineup like you did for 2015 last year please!

I have the Epiphone L-00 it is a beautiful lil guitar. This type of guitar is called a bluesbox bc it is not used to strum chords like a dreadnought but for bluesy finger picking...great for Robert Johnson style delta blues playing. Given the outrageous pricing of Gibson acoustics, I use Epiphone acoustics and they sound awesome. I use a Gibson SG electric however. Great demo, guys! Thanx!
You ain't going to the right places in America for coffee, Rob!
Captain's fingerpicking sounds great!
would love to see Peter and Lee jamming on these!
Hey! We drink great coffee in the states, lol... Great vid!
I do think that to get a full blues twang, you need to finger it and pick it at the same time. that's how Robert Johnson got his tone on his L-1. This video is awesome and these guitars sound awesome.
The moment when Rob's phone ringed made me LOL. :'D
Got tickets to Dorje's next tour for my birthday, cant wait to see you in Bristol.
The fancy chord you played was C#dim, goes perfectly into G/D, E7b9, Am7, C/D, G or any variation on those chords. (E7, A7, D7, G). Nice vid!

Standard very common ‘passing’ chord.
*"Because it's a pyramid, it makes you younger."* -Robert Sutherland Chapman. 2015
Excellent
Thanks for the review, i am thinking of getting the standard model and interestingly out of all the reviews ive watched you are the first reviewer (i have seen) that has mentioned the string spacing. i already own an OM28 and was thinking that there might be too many similarities between these two guitars.
great comparison of guitars that point out what was then, vs what is now. however, when when using the term demo. that means to demonstrate. recommended demonstration for acoustic guitar is: Audioslave- I am the highway...., with vocals " pearls and swine bereft on me"...cont.
Awesome
LOVE LOVE LOVE the L-00 Americana and American Eagle.. These a little less, but still gorge!
would love to see you guys demo the BLUGUITAR AMP1 ... looks killer!!!
Captain Lee? More like Clapton Lee!!!!! Nice playing dude!
at 10:55 it´s a Db diminished...Love your videos guys!
That last song you do together is the best damn thing I've heard in years. It belongs on a record. Absofuckinglutely beautifical.
Rob. If you apply a good furniture paste wax to the back of the neck, then apply a guitar product for making the neck slick, you will be amazed how the stickiness will be gone. Then rub a little coconut oil on your hands, it will be like greased lightning.
Prettyyyyyyyy nice. I want Rob's.
Can we please have a wall of amplifiers like in the last room, that was something really interesting to look at in the background.
You talked about the width of the neck.. Personally. at the age of 70 I find that I have no problem playing higher in the neck than many other "HIGH END GUITARS". I consider this high end just because of the cost.. ( NOT its not top of the heap but it sure is on a shelf you need to climb to. Many guitars with thinner necks I find that playing high I get less tone due to my hands. I dont have long dainty fingers.. LOL. I have working man hands.. I also took a capo and stuck it on the 8th fret.. then played and discovered good tone and sound with resinance . often you will have a change in sound when you do this. but with my fingers I get good clear notes when I pick a D position up that high.. great guitar .. highly recomend it. I also want to comment on you putting the pick down.. It plays great with just your fingers.. as it should..
I must try that - enter a guitar shop, approach the assistant and ask for one of those "finger pickery acoustic guitars." Thanks, Captain :)
Could you please do a review of cheaper parlour guitars like the Jim Dandy and CP100
Love your vids. Thank you. Could you please do a side by side comparison between a Gibson L-00 and an Epiphone EL-00 Pro all mahogany acoustics? I have bet going with a friend that the Gibby will sound 10 times better than the Epi. I think it will be fun! Cheers!
When can I buy the Captain acoustic blues album and how do I pre-order now! Seriously amazing playing sir.
i have an epiphone dr-100 and other than the added bass end it sounds pretty much identical to these
what was the last time you reviewed 12 string? :P
I love the great depression at 5.27, Rob's face, i'm still laughing.
Off topic... Have you guys done a review demo of Gibson Explorers or plan to in the future?
I'd love a J-45 but I'm left-handed... Anyway, more acoustic guitar reviews please !
some nice ribbon mic's you have there
Hey I was hoping you could do a video on a taylor big baby-e.. I really want to get one but I would like a pro's input on its tone and stuff.. thank you
@Rob Chappers @Lee Anderton That chord is a diminished 7 :)
more acoustic videos please
Looking to buy a Gibson 2016 SG faded but my local guitar store doesn't have one on display yet or one even in the store and I'm not sure of I'm going to buy it or not because I can't try it out anywhere. If you're going to do a review of the 2016 Gibsons can you include this guitar? It would help a lot.
Lee : "He's got no idea what he's talking about !" :)
Yes, you did justice for Gibson acoustics they sounded quite nice. Just a add to comment ... U should mention the string gauge when showing acoustics and mention that shorter scale guitars are easier to play // Bravo Brits , always explain American guitars better that the most usa ersCheers Alberta Dave
If you notice the Les Paul is roughly the same size if you imagine it without a cutaway the Les Paul is a small bodied guitar ;) if you look at them side by side with the L00 the size similarities are quite striking. It's not something you think about but it's pretty cool
Rob Chapman's Toilet Phone sounds like a wonderful solo project.
Captain needs more lead playing in these.
Lee played better then Rob this video! Awesome, keep it up Lee ;)
Chappers! What is yours and the Captain's favourite guitars other than Chapman? (exclude custom shop)
I heard the Captain will be taking over lead guitar duties for Dorge
The chord that the captain prefers is a C#min7(b5) for the asking. :)
please do more acoustic videos

Going to order a Fender CP-100 from andertons now :)
U.S. $2,400-2,800. Must be nice. For us reg'lar folk, I bought an identically styled (to the 14-fret model) new Epiphone EL-00, retails for $300. Sure, it's not the same. But neither is my checkbook. Oh, and good video, gents, very nice playing. Love for the old blues boxes always appreciated.
Grandpas Guitars
Caps Gibson also is a 14th fret one, the Caps one is a 12th fret one...
More acoustic!
I will observe that the L-00 (which is the one that +RobChapman has) is a 14-fret guitar, despite what +CaptAnderton implies around 2:10. Also, the Keb' Mo' Bluesmaster isn't an L-00; it's kind of its own beast. You can see the difference in where the neck goes into the body, but the more interesting observation is where the bridge is attached to the body. See how much closer it is to the butt of the guitar on the Keb' Mo' than the L-00.
Love that there are finally some acoustic guitars on the channel, but to suggest that these 2 guitars are the same, with a few cosmetic differences misses a tonne of what makes acoustics what they are. Lee talked at some length about the guitar being a 12 fret, which of course Rob's was not, which is the difference in scale length. These two guitars could have beautifully illustrated such an important but poorly understood areas in selecting folk/blues guitars, and instead it was suggested that it's really all about accessing higher frets. Only electric shredders like Rob look to play lead solos past the 12 on an acoustic like this. Please do more acoustic videos, but in future, less shredding and more knowledge dropping please.
But does it Djent?
Anyone know where the intro/outro riff is from?
Bozeman, Montana, was named after one of the gents that founded the town, John Bozeman rather than being nicked off another town from elsewhere in the world which, as you say, is often the case.
there's a 12 AND a 14 frets here !
I know this is an old video but my question is still relevant....does Gibson still make a 25 inch scale L 00 now that the Keb Mo is discontinued? And you guys didn't mention the Keb Mo has a wider fretboard (1.8) and the 25 inch scale whereas the std. Has a 1.72 fretboard and 24 inch scale which does make a difference in punch and volume......I don't care for the short scale and thin neck on a small body guitar so it's a major difference... .
If anyone is looking at buying one of these, have a look at the Martin 17 series. You may prefer the tone and they're similarly priced.
Lee, thanks for the vid, so nice of you to do a video with some acoustic guitars but how about next time showing some affordable to everyday non-billionaires. Cheers... (by the way, you sounded extremely good playing today, Capn)
