Gibson Kente's work has touched and shaped the lives of countless South Africans, and his legacy as a storyteller and visionary artist continues to inspire a new generation of creatives.
In celebrating his enduring legacy, the Soweto Theatre is hosting the Gibson Kente Lecture on the 25th of February.
The lecture will be led by renowned Theatre scholar, Dr. Andile Xaba whose research interests are South African literature and plays, particularly the plays produced by Soweto-based playwrights.
The series is curated by Joburg City Theatres artistic Director James Ngcobo who joins us to tell us more.
