    It's nice to see someone on YT that strings the way I do too. Basically one wrap over two under! Self locks-no need to bend anything!!

    Nice job! It's hard to find someone as conscientious as you where it comes to working on guitars. I took my guitar to a ‘Guitar Center’ for a full adjustment, as I knew it was off at the saddle and Nut, not to mention that the Truss needed adjustment. $82.00 later, all they did was adjust the Truss. I know because I put a gauge to it. Kids! No training!

    Hi again! I was just wondering if it’s ok to check for the string height with just two strings... will the tension of the six strings raise that action a little bit by bowing the neck? Thanks for all the effort and knowledge in your videos

    Question: After the compensated saddle has "perfect" intonation. Is the compensated nut primarily for the finger pressure at first couple of frets?

  • @StringTechWorkstations

    @StringTechWorkstations

    3 жыл бұрын

    Good question! Thanks for asking Mike. The most notable sharpness in the first 5 frets is corrected for sure. But the guitar is calibrated in "lock step" with the compensated nut, which regulates the entire scale length from the first fret to the last. As I type this ... there is an 80 minute super detailed step by step video being uploaded for my Patreon Tier 3 Subscribers.

    Hi I just bought a Martin 000-18 and sweetwater will be installing the Baggs anthem. I’m really nervous about the guitar being drilled into but I need the pickup. But will it raise the action when they do that install like that and is it their job to make sure the action is not to high or high at all? I’m not a long time player so I need lower action and all so I can barre easier and just don’t want to mess up the guitar. I know they do that thorough inspection. Thanks for your awesome video and page. -Ryan

    Which side of the bridge holes does the tru mic go on ? Toward the back of the guitar or the front ?

  • @StringTechWorkstations

    Ahead of the bridge pins .. towards the sound hole. Thanks for asking. I'm sure others have wondered too.

    Q: if you had a zero fret would still fit a new nut or compensate at the bridge only?

  • @StringTechWorkstations

    @StringTechWorkstations

    Good question Brian. I have a guy who has a Hofner with a zero fret. What I have done in the past for the zero fret guitars : I file the large zero fret as far forward ( towards the first fret ) as possible. It definitely helps ... kinda like the Taylor / PRS approach. Otherwise you are gonna have to rattle the "Originality Police " and do some re-engineering. So they are the choices. Cheers ! Stay safe + Happy. MMcC

    There are sooo many to choose from .... it can get a bit confusing. I have a K+K system going in this HD 28. Maybe you can tell me what it is that you play MOST of the time ? Flat-picking / light strumming / heavy strumming / mostly finger style ? Perhaps some other subs can pipe in and offer their suggestions.BTW: Is it a Sigma / Martin ?

    @@StringTechWorkstations I play all of the above ways I have considered the LR Baggs Anthem unit because it could be removed with out any damage to the guitar. I have a hummingbird that a Fishman system was installed in and I now have a hole in my guitar and I don't like the sound .. Thanks
