    Big props to Black and his family. It’s not easy to make your debut against the hottest team in the sport, and considering the circumstances he had an excellent debut, especially with his great early innings. The kid’s gonna be alright, and hell I’d be hella proud to just make it to this stage.

    @@PressStartLobby he put up 1-2-3 innings against the top of the lineup and lasted really well until the fifth. The Giants desperately need help and I’m sure more experience would help him get farther into games.

    Mason Black can always say, "I gave up my first MLB home run to Bryce Harper." No shame in that. The Phillies are 25-11 for the first time since--I don't know--maybe the 80s?

    I think he’ll have more of a history than just that. I think he’ll have a better career than the guy who’s known as giving up Barry Bonds record breaking homer lol. This was a tough spot to be put in, this Phillies team is scorching.

    It’s a long season and many teams are suffering from injuries early in the season. The saying is true, “You just have to get hot at the right time”. Baltimore has been hammering the ball and are very young. I anticipate that they will develop throughout the season and they have the offensive ability to keep pace with the Dodgers. The Braves offense is playing well below their predicted projection and it’s only a matter of time before they get rolling on offense and they are in the conversation for a top offensive lineup in the league. I don’t think the Yankees have shown enough offensively to make them a World Series contender but with Cole coming back from injury and Judge is going to produce more consistently than they absolutely could make a run. The Dodgers are the current favorites to win the World Series in my opinion. The starting rotation is clicking and they have two starters quickly rising up to the top of the league. The Red Sox have been devastated with injuries and have remained competitive despite their circumstances. The team that has really disappointed so far has to be the Blue Jays. I anticipate that they will get healthy again and I can’t imagine how Bo and Vladdy could continue to slump for the entire season. I think we will see some great teams in World Series contention make a few vital moves before the trade deadline. I don’t see an absolute clear favorite so early in the season and the playoffs are going to be very entertaining and exciting this fall!

    Like that Bryce has homeruns in back to back games.. hopefully he gets on a roll and keeps pounding them out.. like that Castellano's had a good game at the plate.. hopefully this is a spark for him and gives him more confidence, we need his bat.. I think Wheeler is becoming, if not already the best pitcher in MLB, Ranger your also making a case! Let's ride this hot start and win it all!! Let's go Phillies!!

    Castellanos is a donkey one day and way better the next. He does better when he doesn't try to hit the ball all the way to Jersey. Need to keep Merrifield in the line up as much as possible. If this starting rotation can stay mostly healthy this year the Fightin's could bag 100 wins. Harper's dinger went to the same place that he hit the Big One back in '22 against the Padres.

    If the manager plays his cards right they will. And they should have the past 2 -3 years. Girardi was half ass, Thompson is better but a lotta games were blown, and the full potential of this lineup still hasn't been reached. But the pitching and TIMELY hitting are saving them. Bad bullpen moves, or taking a guy out too soon or too late, that's in the manager, as well as who he puts in. If Too many bullpen arms are used, and 1 is off, well you know.

  • @Rytoast99

    @Rytoast99

    Ай бұрын

    @@Nolan33177luckily its been the opposite of that so far. The starters have been so dominant that the bullpen arms are all well rested except after sanchez starts. The Phillies had 4 starters on ESPNs Cy Young predictor last week and with turnbull moving to the pen, they still have 3. I think the big thing with Thomson managing the pitchers will be pulling his guys before things get too far out of hand. But he also needs to make sure that his guys in the pen are properly warmed up. Im tired of seeing us go to the pen because our starter hits 90+ pitches and lets 2 runners on, just for the relief pitchers to do a 4 ball walk or meatball because they needed a few more throws to warm up

    The league has numerous high profile players who are struggling to produce even remotely close to their projected numbers. They are far too talented to continue to play at this level and will likely get more consistent in their production. There are a lot of teams who are just waiting for their best players to turn around and compete for a playoff spot. The Twins were a team who was performing well below expectations and had recently turned their season around. I don’t think they are a World Series contender but should be in the mix for winning the AL Central. There are so many teams riddled with injuries and once healthy, we will see a much better team. The team who is most healthy by the playoffs will have a tremendous advantage. A team’s depth is proving to be extremely important for their success.
