I got the 2023 TCR Advanced Disc 1+ with Shimano 105 Di2 and the SLR 1 tubeless wheels. US$4K. Fantastic bike and value. The 105 shifters are wireless so it cleans up the cockpit quite a bit.

Regarding the handlebar height. It’s easy you use normal round ones above the stem (normal size) and remove put aside (but keep) the lower ones not used for future sale to put back on.

I have a 2014 tcr with campag it’s a flying machine it weighs at least 1kg less than the heavy disc ones. I do own a disc bike it rides like a tank compared to the giant

Did you check your crankset for the Shimano recall? Btw I just bought virtually the same bike 5 weeks ago on sale. Watching your updates is nice because you're like a year in the future on usage. Nice to see how well its held up after 5k! Impressive achievement! Cheer!

I did indeed, all is well. Thanks! As you'll probably see, it looks a fair bit different now, but it still rides beautifully.

I'm the same, mine is going nowhere but it does float a bit when the wind catches it (just don't look at my reply below). Cheers

Just a some advice about aero and it might come as a shock to all the gear no idea mob it’s your body that’s the problem so just keep your standard bike and fit some tri bars. I personally don’t bother because I’m not a TdeF rider in a TT trying to save 0.5 of a second over 40 km

Great review 👍 out of interest how tall are you? Im right between a M/L and L (185cm) and not sure which would be best.

Can you explain the "fish tailing" for non English speaking crowd :) ? I am curious how you experience the so cold flexing of the frame.

Hiya. Basically the rear of the bike (wheel and frame) moving left to right, feeling like it's swaying around under load - it's probably not much but it feels like it's bending when putting higher power through it.

You don't need to move any spacers, just turn your stem the other way up. I guess you know that, but it looks a bit strange.

@@CycletheNation mmh ok interesting. I'm currently thinking of buying the TCR advanced pro disc 2 (2600euro) or the TCR advanced disc 2 (1900 euro). I would buy a pair of Zipp 303 S wheels with the Non pro version but i don't know really. I was always planning on buying a Canyon Endurace CF7 or Ultimate CF SL 7. All of them are so nice bikes pffff

love my tcr but i always get passed by someone with an aero bike.. great for the climbs but for open roads its not the best for speed. That is my only dislike of the bike. Other than that its a fantastic climbing bike

For me, it's a vast improvement on what I had (regarding aero). It can be improved (with the bars / stem etc) but in comparison with a lot at a similar price - I can't complain.

Don’t get sucked in by all this crap about aero unless you’re a TdeF rider in a TT going at 30mph. You’re getting passed because the other rider is fitter than you. Aero bikes with discs are a lot heavier it’s weight that counts

@@Tarmaccyclocross the aero gains for me aren't about speed. It's about saving watts/time over endurance rides

@@supervhschannel4139 I can always be fitter, but any help is help. I have a long winter of hard training ahead to aid that, but any gains I can get (and afford), I'm all in. Aero gains can be huge - just look at the Ganna / Bigham final in the pursuit last month. Ganna put out 80w more on average than Dan, but only beat him by 0.004 of a second.

@@supervhschannel4139I've been training for years, did the Fred Whitton this year in 7:36 (301st out of 2500) and recently rode 1140 miles in 8 days. Marginal gains aren't marginal when you're in the saddle for 9 hours a day, and future challenges will be longer so any gains, without putting myself in a painful position on the bike, are given huge considerations
