Vito Bratta and Dan Huff. I can see the resemblance. Vito Bratta playing in White Lion, a dime a dozen glam metal band. That notion alone was detrimental for Vito I believe. Vito limited himself by playing in White Lion, like George Lynch limited himself by playing in Dokken. I think Vito Bratta would have suited better in Giant. He would have challenged himself more creatively. But such is life. In hindsight things are easy to analyse. There are so many factors - we can't control - that determine someones career.

That's the tradeoff ,I guess - we grew up in the time of this music, but you could only experience the visual aspect if you sat in front of the TV , watching MTV for hours on end, hoping they would play bands you liked etc..- but still , the era of music was great. Now? Now, the era of music is absolutely abysmal - save a handful of tunes here n there. However, there is KZread, and you can search for all those favorite videos or even find footage & lost interviews of artists you really liked back in the day.

Dann preferred to stay under the radar so to speak and work as a studio musician. He's played on so many other popular artists albums, including laying down the solo for Whitesnake's radio edit of Here I Go Again. I think he still spends his time as a studio musician and guitar instructer these days. Great band and they're all top notch musicians.
@richardwheeler3768
5 жыл бұрын
I think that another reason they didn't gain popularity is because these guys didn't fit into the whole "drugs, sex and rock 'n' roll" scene. Dann and David had previously played in a popular Christian band known as WhiteHeart. They desired to "cross-over" to mainstream, but some in the industry may not have liked their clean-cut side, even though their musicianship clearly shows.
@CapHowdy

@@richardwheeler3768 Not sure thats true considering how popular Stryper were. Simple fact is, by 1989 bands of this type were being signed left right and centre by record labels and many great bands got swamped by all the others, and by the time the second album came out it was in the middle of the grunge rise and was way too late to the party. Incredibly talented band and some fantastic material, but the same could be said of god knows how many bands that came out in that 1989 to 1991 period.

A masterful example of 90's rock songwriting, every trick in the book and then some! Huff is a genius!

80s! 😉
If the music industry had rewarded talent and sound over glam rock, back in the day, these guys would have made it to the top. Their sound is amazing! But unfortunately the music industry favored glam over sound. I was fortunate to hear GIANT open for Heart in 1990 in Columbia, MD. They were awesome!
That guitar solo is far underrated and awesome!!!
MASTERPIECE BOYS GOLDEN MEMORIES
Dan Huff is just a brilliant guitarrist... It reminds me always to Vito Bratta from White Lion, one of the best i've ever seen but just so underrated...

That guy isn't even in the same class as the brilliant Vito Bratta. This is another one of those average bands from '89-91 that killed the scene with mediocre songs and mediocre image.

Did a time-warp double take seeing that PRS there! Band great as ever.
Such a great band!!!
Why this song was not a top 40 hit I'll never understand...check out the acoustic version of this song....it will send chills
HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS GEM OF A BAND?! Just discovered them yesterday. I heard them and thought both the lead guitarist and the vocalist were frightening! Just found out it’s the SAME DUDE! Omg. Unreal talent here.
I Love this Song from Start to Finish. 💛 Dan Huffs is one of my Favorite Guitarists of all Time.
His resume speaks for itself. Worked with the best. Nothing he cant do when it comes to music.
One of the best AOR songs ever

music is now so sad..rap/meaningless pop/depressing bands....i with many people grew up when rock and roll ruled and it was all just so much fun!..at least through you tube kids can enjoy great well written, performed, timeless rock tunes due to this site and parents with taste....rock will never die!!!

Seriously underrated ...

trully an awesome band
one of the best solos ever!
1992 is my favorite year for music; I was hipped to a bunch of stuff I wouldn’t have otherwise heard because there was a local station that played every pop single that came out.
No matter the song, GIANT just move you!
How did they pass through London without the recognition they deserved??? They would have shaken the Hammy 'O right up the Thames!!! Exceptional band which still sound good today. That is the testament of a quality act. God bless 'em!
love them
Underestimated Brilliance.Dann Huff.
One of the best songs for love confession!!!
Uma banda sensacional que não caiu no gosto da mídia. Inacreditável. Boas composições, muito bem executadas e Dann Huff fazia tudo aquilo na guitarra e cantava ao mesmo tempo.
Fantastic Melodic Rock track. Giant was... GIANT 🔥 Amazing melodies, amazing musicians, unforgettable !
One of my fave bands...first both albums classics
Dan Huff, Vito Bratta and Pete Lesperance (band Harem Scarem) very underrated
This simply makes me feel good... That's what it's all about really...
Straight fire 🔥 🔥
Love Giant! The ending is so cute.
Amazing song, amazing band, great video, Dan Huff was so highly underrated.
Great song!
At last the great Giant have their videos on VEVO, the quality is excellent! One of the best band I've ever listened to! I want a time machine to take me back to 1980's...
Man talk about a catchy hook on the chorus Songs just dont have the power like they did in the 80s and early 90s
Dann Huff - Amazing guitarist, fantastic singer, awesome songwriter, and an impeccable taste in T-shirts.
Great song with a great hook.
"Should we plug in our stuff?" "Nah, I didn't bring my amp." "Hey you kicked my sand castle!"
Amazing Band
One of my favorite groups. This is also one of my favorite songs in this album (Time to Burn)!
So many videos on the beach from that year lol. 'Nobody Rides for Free' by Ratt, 'Everything about You' by Ugly Kid Joe
Melodic hard rock can't get much better than this, absolutely brilliant song! \m/
What a great and amazing song... Giant is a brillant band.
A thinking man's alternative to Bon Jovi.. one of the best ever guitar breaks in any song .. the opening to it is like a bungie jump .. you just keep going back for more..
my favorite song from Giant!! rock On
Dan Huff is a phenomenal guitar player
One of the best songs of the era. What a guitar sound and voice. Amazing production!!
Esa energía ya no la escuchas hoy en día..... maravilloso grupo, de lo mejor !!

Gawd... I still LOVE THESE GUYS
A great track!
Para quem gosta do bom e velho rock, show de banda
I heard this song for the first time now. Amazing, I really love it! Why the fuck music can't be like this nowadays??
Had no idea Dann Huff had such a fantastic rock voice! :) Peace, V
Awesome sound quality. You can actually hear 30% more vocals and layers than on last video of Stay. Just perfect song.Go Dan :)
this is TALENT!!!!! BIG TIME!!!!
best band ever made
Well put! Parties where you actually met new people and made friends. I also loved the arcades and my dual cassette deck with high speed dubbing LOL! Whoever finds the 80's time machine first please pass the location on LOL! :-)
I will say it again. No one that can play the fucking guitar like that should be given that kind of voice. He comes from a select group including guys like John Sykes that can just rip, and sing as well as any other lead vocalist in any band. Dann Huff is just too damned talented. I listen to their two albums with him at the gym all the time.
reminds me of one of my friends sean martin havent seen him in a long time this is his kind of music
Damn solo kicks ass!

"real parties where people approach you....and human beings with social skills!" fortunately in Brazil there is still that part of social life at parties hehehe but I also wanted to be born in this epoch or be able back at that time. felizmente no brasil ainda existe essa parte da vida social nas festas hehehe mas eu tambem queria ter nascido nessa epoca ou poder voltar nesse tempo
Great band and Dan huff is such a good guitarist.
A wonderful song
GIANT is my favourite i've seen them live awesome shows.
hey little girl. it was just you and me with our backs to the wall. we could take on the world. because our hearts were strong. man just don't get lyrics like that anymore. been a giant fan for many years. love them. they should've gotten more recognition then they did. amazing group. Dan huff one of the best vocalist and best guitarist ever, in my opinion
Wish we still had music out there that sounded as good as this does.
