The UV did such a great job. Lovin that Harley. Great start to the collection this giant system can support.

These huge tanks 👀 look amazing, but when they get a problem like algae bloom, they look 👀 horrible 😱 exasperated by the size of these beauties. Glad that you were able to ‘fix’ the problem so efficiently Cam. 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

When I set up My current tank up at first I had the worst bloom. It was like milk I couldn't see through it. Done everything. 100% water changes, new media etc etc and didn't work for about 3mths. Thankfully I wasn't in a rush to get going but I was losing it with the bloom. On the verge of packing it in I got a uv as a last resort. By next day it was almost crystal clear, 2 days later it was pristine clear

Its normally only good bacteria trying to find a home, I had same issue and added a load more rock and ceramic media and within 2 days it cleared up

@@bopeep7806 ye it wasn't first reef tank but it was an explosion. I had no more room for media or rock. Never had it that bad before worse then this video. The lad from my LFS popped out and couldn't believe it. The mysterious that keep us thinking in the hobby. 3 years later still a happy reef

I have just installed a 57w on my cade 1200 I have set up it’s own pump And feeding it back into the sump How many Lt per hour should I run through it for white spot control Or for algae More set it up for disease control as I’m wanting to add new fish Love your work cam

Nice job Cam in getting that bacterial bloom under control. The tank looks crystal clear after you installed the UV..

I had something similar to this ended up being a algae bloom. Bought two green killing machine UV’s and the problem went away in a couple days.

Cam what size of Uv would u use on an 400 litre tank. Would that one in the video be good

Its a shame all this expensive UV unit and they dont provide proper fittings to connect to pumps... and you have to put glues and stuff..

is this a algea bloom or a bacterial bloom? im only asking cause title says bacterial and i keep hearing algea in the video

Had a bad bloom right after cycling, waited about 10 days and cleared up on its own, no uv needed.

Reason bacteria bloom happens is more nutrients suddenly, filter issue or other bio filtering issue. What happened here?

Bacterial bloom occurred in final stages of my 3 week cycle, no nutrients introduced, no filtering going on, no animal life, just return pump on. I'm trying to figure out "what happened "?

Well picked. It initially looked like a bacterial bloom when we did the thumbnail and I can’t remember why we never changed it. I do refer to it as algae in the video though from memory. Cam
