This video is about making a giant size nut & bolt from steel. This is part one where I rough out the steel billet to basic sizes. I show the turning, marking out and band sawing of the steel to a rough size & shape. The next video will be loaded in the next few days.

Hi, can I ask why you cut the hex before cutting the thread? In my head I would have done it the opposite way and do as much in the lathe as possible before taking it out?

In hindsight maybe I would have done it different but I was still learning. Thanks for the comment.
