For the breaking handles maybe consider using 4593 Antenna Small Lever with 4592 Antenna Small Base attached with a 28974 Minifigure Neck Bracket with Back Stud - Thick Back Wall or use 4735 Bar 1x3 with Clip and Stud Holder

What I would do with the handle bars is to take the gray pieces that connect them to the vertical bars and put them on upside down. As they are mounted right now leaning on them causes them to flex and potentially break. Flipping them however allows the grey disk spacers to prevent the parts from flexing, potentially making them a little bit sturdier.

Yes I looked at that possibility but they wait was designed on this MK 1 wouldn’t work.. maybe a future version 👍

Darn I really want an optical analysis of that 3d print as a real lens, could make many projects that are very tricky to find a suitable lens for easy if its a good as it looked on camera. Not to mention as an alterntive to having to source a good enough version of your old classic car/bike's lightbulb lens/covers to fill and polish then cast new ones. Worth the effort of casting no doubt if you have a few buddies with the same problem, but still if the 3d printer can actually just do it.

A long time ago I asked about your intro music because it sounded really close to a Ratatat song. Today I finally downloaded the audio and searched for it. Yeah I would like to release a build kit as I’ve had much interest and it’s way simpler than the gokart
It might be cool if you did an upscale version of one of the bikes buildable with set 857
For the front light, a 1x1 stud in the centre of the 2x2 round plate, clicked into the 2x1 brick with hole might look better, and be "legal", if that's a look you're worried about. It is legal to stick a stud in a technic hole. But only one stud, not two. 👍

i am speechless. ❤ such a cool idea! i hope the front wheel is angled enough. also, bikes (in reality) have that bend in the fork for a reason. perhaps you could offset the 3651 with a 1cm offset to the front? that would make a hige improvement on going a straight line i guess. 😅

This is awesome and I love the creativity. That said there was a small bit around 8:30 that made me take pause. You mention that the m10 bolt adds strength to the handle bar but I had a realization related to my having tried similar at a smaller scale before. Does it really add strength if the plastic cannot handle deforming to a point past the bolt? To put it another way, if the plastic delaminates before it reaches contact with the bolt, has the bolt really added strength or is it just there as a backup not directly contributing during the initial stress and breakage. In essence I think the solution if this is even a problem worth worrying about is getting the plastic tighter around any metal components and or using plastics with more compliance before failiure like nylon or high durometer TPU.
@MattDenton
19 күн бұрын
Well.. yes and no. The bolt only ads strength to the part it is connected through, eg the black grip and the end of the grey buckle, but beyond that to the forks then it’s game over. So I should have been clearer on what I was trying to address. 🙂
I got a good color idea white, black, gray.
