I’ve learned so much about fishing from your channel that my teen son and I will begin fishing this summer for the first time. I’ve learned there are def differences in freshwater vs saltwater fishing and since we are in the middle of the US- our experiences will be freshwater until we can get enough $$ to go sea fishing which is a goal in the next 12 months! By catch seems to be a tough balance so it sounds like you’re making the right choice in making up for the by catch caught- you focus more on spearfishing which removes by catch altogether. Thank you for all your awesome videos and can’t wait to hear your good news coming up! Hope you get to bring on your crew full time!

You can actually use a fish descender device to send the fish back down. As a ex-commercial fisherman we would use these devices for rare rock cods that are going extinct. They work by bringing the fish back to their pressurized environment. Either way good on you for feeding yourself and some friends in these near apocalyptic times. 🤙
