Giant Dandelion Water Drop Photography
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I found some giant dandelion seeds, they are called Yellow Salsify seeds. We'll use them to create some water drop refraction photography.

In half the video I'm looking at the monitor and not the lens, my bad. I may also be pronouncing Salsify wrong as well - You'll just have to forgive me for that :)

STewart, you have to be one of the very best macro teachers on KZread. Learn a lot from you, because you share the details, and what works and what doesn't. Wouldn't miss your vlog. Bill.

These big seeds are really great. I have picked up the whole box, and I've used them several times. And at the weekend I will test my new 60mm laowa lens. Another great video, I'm already waiting for the photo of the spider on the dandelion. ;)

Great one! Now my next challenge is finding the darn seeds.
Grazie
Stewart, thanks a lot for your video. I’ve watched it several times, trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong with my salsify seed heads. First of all, not sure if it is because mine are Canadian salsify and therefore somehow different from yours, but I can spray them all day and only get two or three droplets to stay on them. What’s the trick? And secondly, how do you keep the ends of the alligator clip from being in the picture? I’ve tried all kinds of rearrangements but still get a tiny bit, at least, of a clip in every frame. It is so frustrating! Thanks a lot for your help. And thanks for the great videos!
Hello and congratulations. A curiosity? Wouldn't it have helped you close 2 or 4 stops? Very nice job.

If you stop down 2 or 4 stops the background would become more in focus and doesn't look as good.
Another great video Stewart. Where can I find Salsify seeds ?. I don't know where to look for them in the countryside and I can't find Yellow Salsify seeds advertised anywhere (looked for a packet of seeds to grow my own. Can you please help me.

I found them by a local lake, I'm trying to grow my own now.
A quick question, what do you use to spray with? Great video. Kind regards.

Great video as always, apologies but I have to correct your grammar, its raise the camera, not higher the camera..... beautiful images 👌

I have seen them from time to time here in Denmark, so I think you might be able to find them in the Netherlands as well. I usually see them near grass fields in the countryside :)

Stewart hi, my English is not very good, but please, can you explain the apature clipping as down side for laova 2,5-5 magnification vs Canon mpe65. What is apature clipping written hier petapixel.com/2018/03/21/the-399-laowa-25mm-macro-lens-vs-the-1050-canon-mp-e-65mm/

Aperture clipping means the camera controls the aperture electronically when taking the picture.
😂😂😍😍😍
I tried some shots with the seeds I found. After watching this, I'm sure I'll end up with better results. Thanks! If you have a chance you can see my first attempt on my instagram Digital_expressions_Sharon

It might have slipped past you, but the video was a teaching people how to take similar shots even if you were a beginner, thus the need for explanations and demonstration. If you can't appreciate the video for being beginner friendly and you only focus on the end results and thumbnails, then I'm afraid you will have a bad time on youtube 😂
