The animations on this thing is pretty amazing. I love the way it kinda shows personality: the mouth parts moving excitedly as it charges up the grab, or the way you can clearly tell that it is surprised and annoyed that it’s stabby claw gets stuck in the ground.

Thank your for appreciating the animations. Fromsoft really outdid themselves with them. Like, just look at the way Grafted Scions move. Incredible!
I love the way the animated crustaceans in this game, the slowness just before striking an attack at a higher speed to their oponents and the way they mobilize, its done in a way it goes smooth and dynamic with every attack animation they do, it ends up being very mesmerizing to see

Most of the NPCs accepted their fate
the music at the start really encapsulates the fear this monster causes players after encountering it once!

Look, personally, I understand why they are in liurnia and some swamps, but what I don't understand is why these guys are on mountains of ice where there is no lake or absolutely no water, so I just ask why ?

There’s obviously a big lake there. Hard to miss with the giant dragon inhabiting it and attacking anyone on sight. Its just frozen over.

I think these guys get a bad rep. Yes, that ranged attack is absurd. However, when it comes to actually fighting them, I find them quite fun.
